I stopped when D was about 15 months and could still squeeze out a few drops until he was about 2. But there wasn't any leaking.

@oliviaoblivia: Thank you! I'm thinking things will go pretty fast because of the BCPs. The estrogen will do the same thing as a pregnancy  and by July, I hope I am pregnant again, too.

@DillonLion: @sotofamilia: @illumina: Thank you ladies! I'm hoping it is pretty quick! I don't mind having a little milk leftover, but I don't want to be uncomfortable for long.

I was dry really quickly after weaning. I also got pregnant two weeks later so that may have contributed. Good luck on the road to #2!

It was pretty quick. After we quit BF, I pumped every day for about a week, then every other day for a few days and I stopped feeling like I had any milk there. Then it took a couple of months before I could stop squeezing out any milk.

@GreenThumb: it was relatively quick for me...probably two or three weeks. We were only doing one session though when we stopped. I definitely had a few days where I was uncomfortable, but it didn't last long. I asked around when I was going through it, and I think it varies depending on the person - some people were a few days and one girl was almost a year and still getting droplets!

I weaned in February. I watched the documentary Breastmilk a week ago and squeezed just for kicks to see if anything came out, and nothing did. I'm totally dry.

Best wishes on your next journey!

@swedishfish: That is crazy that you still have some milk left! I'm actually not feeling too bad today, so I'm hopeful that things will get back to their new normal soon.

@birdofafeather: Thank you! I am really proud! I never expected it would be so easy and wonderful for me and DD and hope for the same with any future babies. Wish I could have kept going through pregnancy #2… darn infertility!

@MrsMccarthy: Thank you so much! That is so sweet of you! We are keeping our fingers cross for July!!

@LAZB: I'm glad it was relatively easy - I'm hopeful that it will be quick for me, too.

It was really easy for me to stop. I was pumping, but when I stopped, it only took me 3 or 4 days of weaning down to stop. My situation was very different though, so that's probably not the norm.

@GreenThumb: I stopped nursing December 30. I still leak a little bit now and then so I still wear my Bamboobies pads. I had stopped pumping in November so I just let it play out.

…how long until you stopped producing milk? LO and I had our last breastfeeding session last night before she went to bed. She is 11.5 months old and we are going to do IVF for our (hopefully) #2 and I need to start on BCPs, so we've been cutting down on nursing for a couple of weeks now. I'm not engorged today (~24 hours later), but I'm a little afraid of how I'm going to feel in the morning. How long after stopping BF did you stop feeling full? Did you have to do anything (pump, express, etc.) to help in the meantime?

PS: DH and I both totally bawled during the last session. Tough not to feel the guilt, but I know this is what we need to do.
