But I do remember sleeping with my parents when I didn't feel good or if my dad was traveling and I just wanted my mom for some reason. I was still pretty young, but it was never something my family was encouraging of. We've never co-slept with LO because we feel like our bed is for us...it's where we wind down at the end of the day and read/chat before we go to sleep. But I know there are parents who both enjoy having their LO in their bed, so whatever floats your boat. We aren't a co-sleeping family by choice, as we all tend to sleep best in our individual beds.</p> <p>As a teacher, it once came up in a team meeting with the school psychologist that a 13-year-old student still co-slept and it was a concern. I'm sure I'm not thinking it through at all. But in Japan I think it's common that family members sleep in the same room on futon whatever the age. Usually my son will fall asleep in our bed, and then I'll carry him over to his own bed. But sometimes I pass out too, and then he's in there until the morning!</p> <p>I figure that it's unusual circumstances, so I'm ok with it for now (my son is six). But when do you think should be the age cutoff for co-sleeping? </p>
