@bookwormmama: yeah, potentially a great big jetted tub. I know all three boys take bubble baths at grandmas too (and I will be there with lo for a few days as well)
@bh: good point. I have a reusable swim diaper, maybe I'll bring that along if stuff gets weird
@LemonJack: agreed. I'm thinking the 9 year old might not want to be naked around me anyway so it probably won't be an issue

Thanks all! We live SO far from family that this never comes up. But I'm going for an extended period of time, and by myself with lo, so knowing my luck it will come up

I would feel comfortable with the 3 & 6 year old. I would feel awkward being in the bathroom at the same time as a 9 year old nephew if he was bathing, so that's why I vote no on that.

We totally put 4 kids in the tub together for baths when at my parents' house and they all love it. My 15-month old, my 3.5 yr old and my sister's 4.5-yr old twins all take a bath. My brother's 8-yr old declines to join them because he likes a little more privacy. I'd go with what you are comfortable with.

BTW - this mainly works because my parents have a free-standing tub in a very large bathroom. I don't think it would work well for us in a normal bathroom setup, because it really takes 2 adults - 1 for the baby and 1 to manage the other 3 kids.

I agree with others that you cant really fit more than 2 kids in a tub -so I would be ok with the 3yr old boy

My 6 year old neice and 18 month old daughter have taken a bath together on a sleepover. I'd be fine with her bathing with my 3 year old nephew but he goes to bed earlier.

9 seems a bit old and I feel like the younger kids who are closer in age would want to bathe together anyway.

Is it a big tub? I'd be fine with the 3 yo as well and I don't think the 6 yo would bother me, but I can't imagine the bath being very enjoyable for the 6 year old with 3 bodies in the tub and 2 parents assisting.

I agree that 9 seems too old. I guess I would be surprised if the 9 yo still bathed with his brothers since I think kids look for more privacy/independence at that age.

Hmm...I don't see why having a bath all together would come up. We visit SIL at least 1-2 times a year and stay a week, and she has 3 kids ages 10, 7, and 1.5 and neither of our kids (turning 4 and 2) have ever had a bath with any of their kids.

I agree 9 feels old but go with what you feel.
Regularly it would bother me more than once (can you even fit 4 in the tub??). Also I assume you'd be there if any inappropriate stuff happened. Maybe as an out you could bring her swimsuit and says she likes it in the bath? If that is what bothers you. If it's the boy equipment then I dunno :silly:

My daughter is also 2 and I would feel comfortable with the 3 year old only.

We are going to be at my SILs for a few days; she has three boys, 3,6, and almost 9. My daughter is two.
I think the boys still bathe together (or at least the 3 and 6 year old do)
How old would you feel is too old for my daughter to bathe with her older boy cousins?
I'm fine with the 3 yo. Pretty ok with 6. But 9 feels old. But I also don't want to disturb their nighttime routine. I know her three yo will want to take a bath with my LO. We rarely see them. The last time we saw them was thanksgiving (we live pretty far away)
I'm sorta piggybacking on another current thread which inspired this question.
