He hiked his leg over the rail a few times but never went beyond that. He's been in a bed for a year and he hardly gets out of that either. Just yells for us!<br /> DS2 (7 months) has started pulling up and trying to climb the rails so we had to drop the mattress. We did convert his crib to a toddler bed a little after he turned 2, though. We had like a week where he would wake up screaming constantly...like 6x a night, and it was a last ditch desperate effort. He did get super excited once and flip himself over when we were coming in to get him but surprisingly, he isn't a climber when it comes to his crib. She stuck her foot up on the edge once a few months ago but I think it was more of a protest towards me with no intention of actually doing anything about it. He went from being a great sleeper (lay him down and leave the room, no tears) to throwing a huge fit at bedtime. He did it twice and hasn't done it since (knock on wood). He is pretty tall (much taller than his twin sister who has never climbed out), but I think it comes down to personality differences. He is my thrill seeking, wild child, whereas DD is a bit more cautious. She'd stand in her crib all day and scream for me before trying to climb out. She was small for her age but always hit physical milestones early. She was having a massive, out of control tantrum and I put her into the crib to calm down, and she was so mad she climbed out. She never did it again, though she would threaten to if she didn't want to go to bed (would glare at me and put her foot up on the rail). We tried to convert the bed around her second birthday because I was afraid she would climb out again, and it was a disaster. Tried again a couple months later and it didn't work either. When she was about 28 months, she told me she was ready for a big girl bed, we converted it, and that was that. I don't see him climbing out soon. They are not walking yet. </p> <p>I am worried about this and it's on my mind because of the story that went viral about a mom finding on of her twins stuck between the two cribs. It terrifies me but at 11 months, I don't see them trying to climb out of their crib. I'll see how they do in a month from now.
