On that particular flight, we checked it at the gate check. I do have a bag for it, but it's just a big, loose thing, with no padding. I like a bag because it keeps the seat and all the straps contained and it doesn't get so filthy.

We rented a car the last time we went to WDW, we brought our own seat because the rental company can't guarantee a seat, they're first come first served and I didn't want to be stuck at the airport.

I use a super light, inexpensive Cosco Scenera for air travel/car rentals. It's not the greatest seat, but I feel comfortable with a belt or LATCH install now that my son is forward facing at age 3.

we're thinking of taking a trip down south with our 16 month old...i'm not too keen being on the road for 8+ hours but then the logistics of flying with a toddler seem daunting as well...

but i would rather deal with a 90minute flight and the logistics if everything is thoughtfully planned out :)

so for those who have traveled by plane with an infant/toddler, did you rent a car (and bring your own car seat)? any advice would be greatly appreciated!
