What if you froze yogurt in a tube? It'd stay cold!

Dried oatmeal packets, then you just ask for hot water (which you can get while they're serving drinks, too!)

I would totally take cold sausage, though...

Pouches were also a must for me because they don't let you breastfeed during takeoff. She just happily sucks on them during takeoff and never has issues with ears popping.

@BabyBoecksMom: They let you if it's for the baby. I can even keep water in her sippy cup because it's for the baby.

I've taken blueberries, pancakes, yogurt pouches. Also, i'll usually buy oatmeal from starbucks or some other breakfast place and feed that to her.

@Leialou: @locavore_mama: Ok thanks - I don't know why I thought you couldn't bring food through. That makes me feel so much better about flying w/ DD (by myself!) in a few days. eek!

@locavore_mama: I totally thought of waffles as well! neat to eat. I'm all about neat eating.

I would totally bring pouches as well... probably applesauce. And toddler mum-mums are great because they're single serving, fun, and relatively neat to eat.

@looch: yeah, definitely not even trying to bring liquids on. I heard I can get whole milk from Starbucks so, I'll just buy a cup and put it in her sippy after we're through security. It was such a PITA when I carried breastmilk on last time.

@Mrsbells: they're stricter When you are coming into the US, not so much the other way around.

I think it is more the liquids issue, rather than food, per se.

I prefer premade, factory sealed stuff on planes because the security lines and rules can be such a crapshoot.

If you have a child with you, the agents are usually more relaxed, but the rules( as I understand them) are for reasonable amounts of food and water. I prefer to be cautious and leave less room for debate.

What about waffles? You can premake them the night before then heat up in the oven while you're getting ready. Cut into cubes and put them into a Ziploc bag?

Cantaloupes cut up are a great snack too and less messy than blueberries? Grapes?

Fiddlesticks. LO l-o-v-es fiddlesticks!

Do you have pouches at home? I always have 1 or 2 in the diaper bag.

We're going to be in an airport from 6:15am until 11am on Friday. That covers breakfast and snack times. I want to take what M will be eating so I don't have to worry about finding something toddler friendly (not fried) in the airport. She is 14 months old.

I'm thinking of taking goldfish and blueberries for snack. While blueberries are messy, she LOVES them. I may take a whole pint and hope she eats them the whole time we're on the plane. :)

Breakfast is normally eggs and sausage and fruit or cheerios, yogurt and fruit but I don't want to worry about keeping things cool.

What are some good, easy foods for breakfast and snack when you're on the go?
