The signs said it was $25 for the first checked bag, but I didn't get charged. I was worried about getting an aisle seat, too. I just made sure that I arrived at the airport early and at check-in I told the attendant I was flying with a lap infant and asked for an aisle seat in the front. The first flight I got an aisle seat in the 4th row, second flight aisle seat in the 9th row. Additionally if you booked using southwests site, you do not get assigned seats until you arrive at the airport. This may work out better for you, since they block some rows for airline staff and then usually assign these extra seats to families if requested.<br /> There are no change fees on southwest, so you can go online and change to a southwest operated flight for just the difference in fare (if any). And luggage fees :(. I would call to confirm seats, but every time I've flown into P'Cola with them it's been on smaller 2x2 planes. There are no middle seats. After I booked it, I noticed the flights are operated by AirTran and we're not able to choose early bird boarding. Does anyone know how this works then? Does AirTran use seat assignments? Should I call them to make sure we have aisle seats? I don't want to get stuck with a window and middle with a toddler... </p>
