While he started on it for reflux reasons, I can attest that he was so much less gassy on it than similac advance or enfamil ar. I mean his gas completely cleared up. But, we use the ready to feed because he had issues on the powder. I guess ready to feed does not contain corn, and the powder does? It made a difference. It doesnt smell worse than enfamil ar, which smelled like pennies. I've tried both with my oldest who had dairy and soy protein allergies (he outgrew at 15 months). We ended up using Alimentum. No reason why, really. That's good your insurance covers it b/c it's expensive! I tried to reintroduce some dairy at our pediatrician's OK to see how he would do....well it went poorly. </p> <p>So, I'm looking at the above formulas and will feed him my dairy free freezer stash of breastmilk (have a month frozen). My question is have you tried alimentum or nutramagin and what are your experiences (other than they smell bad and are pricey....luckily our insurance covers it).
