There are definitely all-inclusive Caribbean family resorts and even ones with kids clubs that take toddlers. DH and I took my in-laws to visit my family in the Caribbean, and we pretty much went to the beach everyday, and LO loved it. She loved the water and exploring on the beach. I agree that you might not even need a kids club because toddlers just love to hang out at that age.

Turks and caicos has a wonderful all inclusive that caters specifixally to families with young children, called Beaches. It is run by Sandals. Really fantadtic service, they have sesame street characters walking around and daycare facilities and children activities all day. All the restaurants have kid friendly food. The resort tries to make it as kid friendly as possible so that parents can relax on their vacation too.

I think the ocean and some pools are great fun for a kid and there is no way he would be bored! My inlaws live in a resort type place where there are pools and the Gulf of Mexico. It is an amazing place for kids. They could spend all day playing in the sand with a bucket and shovel! I think at that age they don't need structured play like you would get from a kids club type place.

Can you try and find a resort that has a kids' creche/playroom with lots of indoor toys/soft play in? Not sure what it's like in the Caribbean but in Europe there are several large resorts with facilities like these that cater well for toddlers/young kids. We took LO to an all-inc at 12 months and she did fine with the pool/beach etc. she didn't really play with the limited toys I packed all that much!

My mom really wants to do a Caribbean resort beach trip with me and my 21 month old daughter. Which is great for convenience and beach and all that, but these places aren't usually big on kid activities or having things for kids, as far as I remember. I'm thinking my active kid might be pretty bored with just the pool/ocean and the few toys I can stuff in a suitcase. Or am I completely off base? Anyone have experience with this that has tips/ideas?
