@photojane: hey! Stumbled on this thread because my daughter is having the same problem. Rashes in shape of her undies on her butt but not the front. At first I thought it was the training underwear but regular carter underwear did the same. By morning it's gone because she's in diapers. How did this resolve for you?

You can be allergic to elastic--can you find one that is totally encased in cotton? Sometimes i get aggravated lines there if i'm trying to cram my ass into underwear a size too small. Laser cut underwear?

@photojane: Is she possibly allergic to latex?

You can get latex-free underwear! Or underwear with no elastic showing... just google something like "latex allergy underwear children" and lots of products should come up!

In the meantime, I would definitely stop using the underwear!

Sadie's been potty trained for a couple weeks now, and has had a terrible rash most of the time. The rash is right around where the elastic band rubs on her lower back. I thought maybe her skin just wasn't used to undies rubbing on it, and it would go away, but it's only gotten worse. She says it hurts, and complains about it a lot.

I'm not sure why she's so broken out. Anyone else experience this? Is an elastic allergy a thing? I can't seem to find toddler underwear without an elastic band... any help there?
