Um last week I had a mild anaphylaxis reaction to something, and I've never really had allergies before. So I don't know but the only thing new in my life is a baby! :(

My MIL has always told me that after having DH, she developed the same shellfish allergy that her husband has, and she'd never had that before giving birth. She's still allergic decades later unfortunately!

@auggiefrog: I have Zyrtec on hand for my husband and should probably start taking it too. Of all the things I expected post partum (hair changes, body changes), this never crossed my mind.

@Mrs. High Heels: Sense of smell! That is crazy!

I developed a gluten allergy after baby #2. :(

I know a few moms who developed allergies after pregnancy. One developed a fish allergy (no more sushi for her - so sad!), and another lost her sense of smell (not an allergy, but still... The body does crazy things!).

I don't have any experience with the personally, but my mom developed lots of allergies after I was born. That I know of, she developed a dog allergy (she was already allergic to cats), and also developed asthma. And yes, they were permanent. Maybe taking an allergy pill, such as zertac will help?

I have an indoor cat we've owned for 7 years and never any allergy issues. She's not my biggest fan and usually just loves on my husband and we coexist.

Since my son was born, I've struggled off and on with sinus pressure and allergies. I chalked it up to Spring, but it hasn't gotten better.

Tonight the cat crawled into my lap (apparently desperate) and I loved on her. Almost immediately my eyes were swollen almost shut and I cannot quit sneezing! Its so crazy to me because I've never been allergic to any animal in my life. Can having a baby change this, and is it permanent? I'm trying to locate our benadryl now...
