Interesting!

I recently cut out dairy - I'm a vegetarian, but cut out dairy to save calories and some other reasons. I stopped having stomach issues within a few days of being dairy-free. I had a bagel with some cheese when I was out with a friend yesterday and felt awful last night.

@LindsayInNY: yup! With both my kids I developed a bizarre allergy to the sun during the postpartum period. Sunlight would hit my body, and I would get a blistering oozy rash wherever it touched, even if it was through a window. And then after about 3 months, it went away completely. My doctor says it's not uncommon to develop short term allergies like that postpartum.

@Raindrop: Yes but not really food ones. But lactose?! GAH!

@Silva: Damn you LO! Good thing you're so cute... Seems to make the worst things seem not so bad ;)

Pregnancy can change your immune system. I developed an autoimmune disease after pregnancy, and initially they suspected it was triggered by the pregnancy (but then my brother tested positive like a week later, so new theory!).

Did you have any allergies before?

Allergies can change over time so I would say yes this could happen.

Source : Personal experience. My allergies have changes many times over my life.

Is it possible to develop allergies postpartum? Has this happened to anyone or am I losing it? I'm the last month I've been having stomach pains which I think might be lactose related. I'm 6 months PP. Is this even possible?
