I took Benedryl. I couldn't take my allergies - they were so bad. My BFF is a pharmacist and later recommended me to take Chlor-Trimeton (OTC) as it is safer. Claritin is so useless on me. :(

I took Claritin. My ob approved it and I have horrible allergies. Both were fine.

@.twist.: I'm in the US. I don't know of a national call center like that, but I suppose I could call the midwife center. I did have my annual there so I'm already a patient, they just haven't seen me as a pregnant patient yet.

hm... I don't know if you're in Canada or the US, but in Canada there's the HealthLink that you can call and they have on call nurses at any time to help you out. Maybe that's an option? They may have something similar in the states?

Did you take anything for allergies in your first trimester? I just looked on WebMD and it says Benedryl and Claritin are safe in pregnancy, but to ask your doctor in the first trimester. We are going to dinner at a house that has cats this Saturday, and I'm pretty allergic. We don't have our first doctor's appt until Monday. I guess I could call and ask, but since they haven't seen me, seems weird.

I'm leaning towards not taking anything and just suffering through and making it an early night, but maybe I'm being over paranoid? I've been dealing with congestion for the last few days already. I'll be 8 weeks on Monday.
