It went pretty smoothly. DS has been sleeping in a bed bed for a year now? He's 2. We did co-sleep for a bit, but the crib was just too small for him. He's a heavy roller so he'd bump up against the crib railings pretty hard and it woke him up. He sleeps much better in a bed. My husband feels like since she isn't climbing out the crib, we should keep her contained as long as possible. I also work in a school and am off for the summer, so I would love to make the transition while we are not working/going to day-care. I'll let you know how it goes! Since she already does well in a bed while traveling companion I would think transitioning her when you get back from a trip would be perfect. When we are away she refuses to sleep in her travel crib and we end up just putting a mattress on the floor or she sleeps in a bed and does fine. I'm due in January and do not want to buy a second crib. Everyone says to transition her to her new bed before the baby comes so she doesn't feel like the baby is stealing her crib. We moved her to her own room/crib when she was two months and plan to do the same with the baby, if no sooner. I was thinking about moving her to a bed at the end of August when we get back from vacation and before she starts school in September...is this crazy? Should I wait until November/December to do this? </p>
