Only because I used to do yoga in a studio that required you to be barefoot anywhere beyond the lobby. I was really freaked out at first, but was with a friend who is a midwife and she told me it would be absolutely fine (she's pretty good at calming my germaphobe ways!) And she was right, I did yoga there for almost two years and was totally fine.</p> <p>But, I would definitely not be okay with the lady being rude and hanging up on you! Maybe call back to have them clarify? </p> <p>In all honesty, I think you're being a little paranoid though. There are tons of activities and places where your LO will have to be barefoot. Germs are a part of childhood, and an important one at that. Like people who don't sit on public toilets. Unless you have open sores all over your butt, there's probably more germs on your cell phone. I totally see your mindset here, but if it's getting in the way of you and your child doing normal activities, I would say you need to do some self reflection and make some changes. I mean, feet can be gross but they're cleaner than shoes that walk outside, right? I'm fairly weird about germies but I wouldn't let it limit us from doing something fun, we just wash hands more than the average bear. Can you wear socks? If not, my personal feelings are that as long as you have no open wounds, your feet are the safest thing to get germy! They are furthest from your face &amp; far from your private area, you don't eat with them &amp; you can always wipe them off with a baby wipe when you are done. I'm wondering if I'm at the point of needing some sort of counseling...</p> <p>An example- I really want to do something fun with my son- like enrolling ourselves in some sort of parent/child activities. I looked into the little gym, which I thought would be perfect, but then they told me that parents and kids need to be barefoot. Ew ew ew. I can't seem to get past that. (Not to mention the lady was rather rude and hung up on me). Am I being totally paranoid or are there any other moms out there that feel the same? You can tell me I'm crazy...maybe that's what I need to hear! Any advice?? </p>
