We didn't try it much but neither one of us was really interested. We once had to share a bed at my parents cottage when he was almost 5 and we both hated it. We love our space.

LO looooves co-sleeping. If, by co-sleeping, you mean, "squealing loudly, slapping us with her little hands to get us to play and attempting to crawl off the side of the bed constantly." We tried a couple of times when she woke up crazy early to see if she'd cuddle up an sleep a bit long. Apparently not.

Ugh I'd love to trade babies with you. I don't know that all babies like it but my little crazy baby ONLY wants to sleep snuggled up to me. Doesn't help my sleep, I'll tell you what. He moves a lot. He never slept with us until he had an ear infection and we let him. Ever since then, he won't sleep in his crib. :( Be careful what you wish for!

My LO is like this. WILL NOT sleep with me at all and never really has, except when he was super small. He thinks its party time if he's in bed with me. Sometimes I wish he was more cuddly, but at the same time, I wouldn't want him in my bed every night so its probably for the best that its his choice to be in his crib!

I wouldn't say my LO "hates" cosleeping, but it never made her sleep better or longer. We tried it when we were getting 6-8 wakeups a night. Then we just had 6-8 wakeups 2 inches from our faces. She doesn't sleep worse or fight it, it just makes no difference and I get a little anxiety about possible smothering so it's more comfortable for ME if she's in her own crib.

The only benefit to the cosleeping (after she got a bit older like, after 5 months) is that sometimes when she'd wake up, she'd stroke my hair and that was just SO cute. But not as cute as just sleeping longer stretches, lol.

We used to cobed in the mornings, and then basically one day she just wasn't into it anymore and would only sleep in her crib (or short naps in the Ergo/stroller). Now if she wakes crazy early, which she doesn't do that often, we bring her into bed between us with a few toys and sleep a little longer while she plays. Parents of the year? Most certainly.

I voted no, even though it wasn't about my kid. My cousin loved cosleeping, but her son was totally not into it after a few months. I'm really hoping our LO won't be like that, since we plan to cosleep from the beginning.

@jojogirl--until she was 6 weeks old, and that was about it. She is just NOT a cuddly kid. Maybe your LO didn't want to sleep with you b/c she spent all day strapped to you :)

I look at it this way--when my kid sleeps in, I get to have coffee and pee in peace without being chained to the bed :) It's a glorious feeling when you're an early riser

This is funny because I brought LO into my bed at 5 am this morning because I thought she might be too cold and all she wanted to do was explore. After 20 min of not falling asleep, I laid her back in her crib and she instantly fell asleep. SMH.

Mine is not cuddly. I have so many photos of Dh trying to cuddle on her and her face says GET ME OUT OF HERE while her arms and legs flail to free her. Bed time is play time! I think she likes to bounce on it as she's crawling. She moves around so much in her crib, I can't fathom her being in bed with us.

I think every baby is different, and has their own agenda, related to sleep. We bed share, as our daughter is not a heavy sleeper, on her own. Cosleeping works for our family, but it doesn't jive with everyone.

Never attempted it because I wasn't interested in co-sleeping so I have no idea if J would like it or not. I know I wouldn't be able to sleep, though, since I couldn't sleep with him in his bassinet in the room. We moved him out into his room after about a week at home! I'm such a light sleeper and need quiet to be able to sleep.

When she was really little she would sleep OK in our bed-- not better than in her RnP, I don't think, but on the nights she was up at all hours anyway, it was more restful for me to keep feeding her and switching sides in bed than getting up and down to get her, bring her to bed, feed her, put her back. I would nurse laying on my side, she'd nurse to sleep and I could gently push her onto her back then roll away from her. I never slept great that way but better than being up and down.

Now, since she learned to fall asleep in her own bed, nope. Even when we bring the sound machine into our room, she will happily nurse laying in bed with me, but she won't fall asleep like that. She is pretty cuddly though, so I can get some extra laying down time and snuggling, even if she won't go back to sleep.

@lawbee11: Same- she moves around so much getting settled, DH and I would have to be on the very edges of the bed to not disturb her but keep her from falling out.

Haha I'm currently your 1 yes vote, and as I type his I'm laying in bed with DS right now at 3pm. I was desperate to get him to nap because he was way overtired. Generally he starts oh the night in the PNP a couple feet from me, and then around 4am or so I'll be too tired to put him back and we both just call asleep.
