Amazon-only is fine.

Even if you had BRU, I would still most likely use the online option. If I wanted to go off your registry there's 90% chance I would not pick a usual baby registry online or brick &mortar store to shop.

We did a registry at http://babyli.st/. It's awesome because you can organize/categorize things, and add stuff like "bring a meal" or "doula fees", unlike with Amazon. I really like to be able to organize lists, and I like for things to look nice and clean, so this site appealed to me. Much preferred it over Amazon or MyRegistry.

Anyway, to answer the question, we did the BabyLi.st and BRU. We've gotten a good bit from each one. Older folks do definitely prefer the BRU, but now that most things are bought off of that one (am I the only one that had a hard time finding things from there that I actually wanted?), they're just giving us money! Which is the best.

I would do two options...even some of my Amazon obsessed friends procrastinated and bought stuff at BRU before my shower!

I did just amazon and it was great fort friends but harder for my mom's. I also suck at returns and amazon seemed much harder to return for me (because you have to mail it). I did basically get everything in the end though, but I'd probably put some stuff on the bru one too.

You can also put notes next to the items on amazon. For some reason the coarsest I wanted was way cheaper at bru so I mentioned it in the note. If someone purchases elsewhere, they just check it off as purchased on your amazon (if they remember).

We had both, most people preferred BRU. I think because many gifts are bought last minute, even the day of.

I did just myregistry.com for my wedding, and this threw our older guests off. We got a lot of gift cards and cash. I don't know if we had an in-store option if it would be different.

As a Prime Amazon member, I was really happy when the last baby shower I went to was on Amazon!

Don't forget they usually have 20% coupons for bru and bbb so sometimes it's cheaper thru those stores.... I'd say even though I had a lot of my cousins and friends come to the shower, 99% of them bought via bbb. I think only like 3 people bought from amazon and that's cuz they didn't make it to the shower.

People in my life who are determined to go to an actual store are the same people who would ignore the registry and just buy me a ton of clothes anyway. So I think the inconvenience factor won't be too high.

At this point I'm keeping the registry to Amazon-only. My cousin registered at a popular brick and mortar store and when I went there to buy off her registry, they barely carried anything from it in the store, it was still online only. I figure if people are desperate and procrastinating, they can either buy something from my actual registry at a b&m store last minute and just tell us to take it off the registry, or they'll give us a gift card or cash which are fine with me!

We are planning on doing an Amazon registry and BRU registry. Like others have stated, some people like to wait til the very last minute, so having an actual store registry might be convenient.

As a major procrastinator and having many family members who also are, many of my shower items weren't picked up until shortly before the shower.

I'd let them have the option of paying a little extra if they want to wait a little longer. Other family members shopped around, got a better deal elsewhere, and let my husband and MIL know to take it off the registry.

I wanted to do BRU and Amazon but my mom convinced me to just do BRU for the older folks. She has the password to my BRU account so people can buy things on Amazon if they want and she can take it off our BRU registry. It's up to her to let shower guests know that though. I actually just made a private Amazon registry today for things I will need/might want but wouldn't put on the actual registry.

I think I will do both-- an Amazon and a Buy Buy Baby one. I like to give people options and I will have a lot of older relatives who prefer to go to the store. As a young person who gets invited to a lot of showers, though, I love the Amazon option! BBB is a 25 minute drive for me, where Amazon I can go shopping on my lunch break :)

the poll came out a little wonky. looks like the Yes option is the question.

anyway, we're doing just an amazon registry. we also have a small brick and mortar registry, but amazon's universal registry function lets us point to the other one so everything's consolidated.

we haven't really registered for much, so i'm anxious to see what guests decide to bring.

I'd think about putting a few items on a brick and mortar store registry just in case. Sometimes people forget about a present until the last minute and may need that option. Or you could wind up with a lot of gift cards, which isn't a bad alternative ;)

I made a registry at BRU and also had one on Amazon to add to as I thought of things. After looking at everything on my BRU registry, I realized that everything I wanted from there I could put on my Amazon--and for less $ and almost all free shipping. My shower guests are all closer to my age and I know many have Prime accounts. Is it inconsiderate of guests to only have an Amazon registry, keeping in mind some guests wait until the day before to get a gift?
