Yes, it was a big knife! The box on our doorstep was brown cardboard and said Kraft but inside there was just the machete. We have Prime and order from Amazon regularly and have never had anything like that happen before.

@Bluemasonjar: like, a big knife? Inside the Amazon box, or inside the kraft box? That is so weird!

I guess it is just the convenience of not even having to go online to restock an item.

DH got the Kraft one for me to test it out since I love mac n cheese. The first time we ordered, a Kraft box was delivered with a machete inside. It was brand new in the original packaging and Amazon couldn't explain how the mix up happened and wouldn't take it back. Instead they just sent a new package of mac n cheese. Needless to say I'm a little hesitant to try it again!

So then what's the point? It's just a gimmick? Why pay more to press a button?

We got them as a gag gift and used them a few times, I'm not a huge fan.

For the selection, they have pre-approved products you can use to buy with them, here is the list of Tide options, looks like Free & Clear isn't on there:
http://www.amazon.com/s?srs=11267107011&rh=n%11267107011%2Ci%3Aspecialty-aps&ie=UTF8/ref=ods_dp_d_oft_sel_tide

If you go to any of the Dash product pages to buy the button there's a link to view the product selection for that button (and pricing).

We have a toilet paper one and a paper towel one. The prices aren't that great but the convenience of getting a GIANT box of paper towels in 2 days at the touch of a button is pretty good, so I still use that one. I think Subscribe & Save works out to be cheaper though if you can plan ahead of time.

Does anyone use the Amazon Prime Dash Buttons? How do they work? Can you select your favorite item in each brand, or is it all preset? what about more than one item per brand? How does the price compare to subscribe and save?

I am interested in the Tide button and the Amazon Elements buttons, but I want to know if I can get my Tide free and clear pods, and the Amazon Elements Sensitive wipes.

What are your experiences with the buttons?
