I have been using diapers.com as it's free shipping over $50 and they also sell paper products but maybe I should think about changing if Amazon is cheaper - does anyone know if it works out less expensive than diapers.com?

I just placed my first amazon prime order, thanks to @regberadaisy: :)

Do far I just did subscribe and save for diaper genie refills, since we'll have 2 bums worth of diapers. Never thought to look into paper goods. Ill probably add DS snacks and #2's snacks once she's eating them. We don't do diapers or wipes because we use target brand

@skibobrown: Prime gets you Free Two Day Shipping and allows you to S&S with 15% discount. Amazon Mom gets you an additional 5% but does not apply to diaper and wipes. However, if you have 5 or more items in one S&S shipment then you do get 20% off diapers and wipes.

And Amazon Mom is free so why not sign up to get the additional 5%?

@anbanan15: The $25 gets you Free Super Saver Shipping which is 3-5 business days vs Prime's 2 day. Although I've found the Super Saver to be right around 3 days! The Mom gets you an additional 5% and you have to have Prime to get Amazon Mom. I know a lot of people use the Prime online streaming as well. So for those that have no cable and pay for Hulu or Netflix they might be able to eliminate those monthly bills for Prime?

ETA: and the Free Prime is on anything sold by Amazon. How often are you buying more to get up to $25 to get free Super Saver? ;)

I love Amazon Prime! We use it for so many different things. Toilet paper, paper towels, paper plates, Luzianne Tea. I really use it a lot during Christmas for the free shipping and it gets here so quick. It honestly saves me money during the year over having to put gas in the car to run to 10 different places to get the best deals.

Don't you get the same benefits if you purchase over $25 dollars though and you don't have to pay the $79 annual fee?! You can do S&S without being a prime member. That's where I'm confused how prime/mom actually saves you.

@Modern Daisy: haha, my DH would kill me if i started buying everything in bulk online, even if we saved $, because where do you store it all in a NYC apt?!

I currently get the free shipping aspect of prime because my mom listed me as an additional user on hers, so i don't pay for it. I'm wondering if it's worthwhile to pay for it separately to get Amazon Mom though.

@mrsjazz: Haha, I'm glad to hear it!! It is absolutely life-changing. We were doing the exact same thing - buying a 6 pack of rolls for around $6.50 as-needed. Never again, lol!

I've kind of been going crazy with my stock-up's - like I bought 12 cans of shave foam (we both use the same thing). It'll take us more than a year to get through it, but it was only $2/can that way instead of $9! I feel really good about avoiding so many huge mark-ups as well as reducing the amount of times we have to run out to the store.

We have prime. I'm kind of confused about what kind of extras I would get if I also signed up for Amazon mom. Right now we live in a small town in the middle of nowhere, so I love that I can just order things with free shipping if I don't want to make a big trip with DD into the city (1 hour away by car). I guess this will change when we move to that city in the fall, but I think I'll still keep our prime membership b/c I'm sure we'll use it!

We have prime- use it maybe once a month for shipping but I totally love it for the free instant videos. Way better selection than Netflix in my opinion as I always thought Netflix was full of B movies. Amazon has a lot of top rated movies, tv shows for free with related options.

We have it and love it. I get diapers and wipes and diaper pail liners. For diapers, I always get the largest box they have. When DS was a newborn I did two boxes a month but only opened them one at a time; if he needed to go up in a size I'd return the unopened box(es) since they have free returns. It is easy to change your subscription for both size and quantity. I get diaper pail liners every 3 months and wipes every other month (720 at a time). We have both a Costco and Sam's Club membership and I found that Amazon was cheaper. Keep in mind if you get a Costco membership that they only sell Huggies brand (or Kirkland brand which is just like Huggies); this wasn't an option for us since Huggies give my LOs severe diaper rash.

I don't know what I'd do without prime! I used it a ton before LO was here, but now that he's here and we don't go out much yet, prime is a lifesaver. I don't do subscribe and save, only because I like to compare prices/options when I run out of something.

I love Amazon Prime. We don't have a Costco membership and I've toyed with the idea of it, but I think I'd wind up spending so much extra money at Costco because I'll be "oh! peanut-butter pretzels! let's buy a huge jar of that." :-)

I get diapers (though we mostly use cloth, but need disposables for sending LO to daycare), wipes, vitamins, toilet paper, batteries, dishwashing liquid, tissues, and other random things. You can always change your subscription to deliver sooner than later, as long as you remember when your shipment is supposed to come.

We have prime at student price so I think it's worth it. The movie/TV selection isn't as good as netflix but it's a nice bonus and we stopped using netflix since we don't watch many movies/TV anyways. I watch it more when I'm doing chores so I really don't care what's on. I haven't found much for the subscribe and save since we use a lot of reusable products and food seems to be a bit more expensive on there than the grocery store but that might change once baby #2 comes along with the convenience. The free 2 day shipping is really nice and def came in useful with LO#1. I could be picky about what product I wanted without having to lug her around to a bunch of stores.

We have both Costco and Amazon Prime/Mom. I love subscribe and save on amazon for diapers and wipes. The free two day shipping on everything is awesome. After trying a few different types of diapers (including the Costco brand), we figured out that we're Pampers people, which they don't have at Costco.

@cmomma17: I have used S&S for diaper, wipes, formula and then I'll add 2 other little things like body wash or lotion bc if u do 5 subscriptions in a month you gethe 20% off the rest of your items besides diapers/wipes. I did just calculate that it's cheaper for me to use my $5 Enfamil checks and buy at a store so I won't order that again.

In regards to diapers I have always ordered the biggest box but I did get messed up one month and ended up with almost an entire box that I couldn't use but it was partially my fault. I'm selling them to a friend tho so i won't lose out too much.

You're going to be going thru diapers like crazy in the beginning so setting yourself up to start with one big box each month you should be fine. The biggest box of wipes lasts me a bit longer so I'd say every other month.

The only things I really dislike about S&S is that you have to have it set up a month in advance to when you want it and you can't move your delivery date up after youve. I tried once not realizing how it worked and it changed my subscriptions to the following month.

@bunnylove08: Same with us! We have to do all of our shopping on the weekends too and in multiple trips since we don't have a way to transport a lot of goods at once. So the online shopping has already been super helpful in preserving our 'fun time'. As long as we can wait 2-3 days for an item to arrive we do not go to an actual store to buy it!

We have Amazon Prime and the free shipping alone is worth it. Amazon Mom is free if you have an Amazon Prime membership so I guess technically we have both. I have a subscription for my prenatal vitamins which is awesome because I never run out. The nice thing is, you can share the membership with **I think** 4-5 other people. They don't get all the benefits of the free books and movies but they do get to use the subscribe and save and the free shipping which is nice.
