Yes, they work. However, they aren't going to solve everything but we did notice it definitely reduced irritability and drooling. DS wore one for about a year (6 months to 18 months) as a necklace. At night in the beginning we would take it off his neck and put it as an anklet with a sock on to keep it in place and touching his skin but as we relaxed as parents we started leaving it on as a necklace during sleep and had no issue.

I just heard about these on HB yesterday, and they are intriguing! Where do you put them on your LOs who are boys? Do you leave them on all day and night?

@blackbird: amber necklaces aren't meant to be chewed like freezeable or gummy ones. Supposedly these release analgesic qualities when worn against warm skin.

We have one for our little guy, I can't say 100% that it works, but he rarely drools and hadn't had any teething issues, so I'm not about to take it off and find out for sure!

We've been using them during the day for a few weeks. Not a cure all if they're in major pain, but it definitely seems to take the edge off and make them less cranky.

We bought one when LO's cheeks started to get really pink quite often and when the drool started to get out of control. I was (and still am) a skeptic but I spoke with a couple moms I know who have 3-year-old's who have worn them since infancy. They all said they saw positive effects so - here we are with one too!
I'm not sure if I noticed a difference but her daycare nanny noticed that she sleeps better when she naps and I've had far fewer drool-soaked onesies coming home each day. She's worn it for about a month now I would say.

And yep - it's cute too (even on boys)!

We got one, wore for a bit, and ultimately decided it didn't do anything. But to be honest, we didn't REALLY give it a fair shot - I was getting tired of putting it on and taking it off every time for a nap and bath and sleep, etc. So I just gave it up.

It contains succinic acid, a natural component of baltic amber. There is not any credible research that demonstrates that this has any pain relieving effects, but there is a good deal of folk wisdom surrounding its use, and many people feel it is helpful during teething.

What makes the amber ones better than the softer ones that you can freeze or that are just gummier?

Love them! I don't get how they work exactly but it's super cute and DS never seemed to have trouble with teeth coming in other than slight nasal congestion from the ones up top.

We got one when teething was bad but that was when NOTHING was working (not even infant tylenol round the clock). :( She broke like FOUR teeth at once so that's probably why nothing worked. Poor baby. We still have ours (it's so cute!) but I'll probably sell it sometime soon.
