That said, my daughter's Godmother (my sister) gave my daughter a Bitty Baby and it was so special :-) My sister gets my daughter AG Bitty Baby outfits and other play items for holidays and I love that she has that bond with my daughter. </p> <p>You might also find that the birthday girl has a favorite historical AG and would like that instead of a doll in her own likeness. We are planning to get her an American Girl Doll. Mr. Lime suspects with a new baby in the house his friends wouldn't splurge on a pricey doll plus he swears AG dolls are not a thing. </p> <p>So many of you write about how you feel robbed when someone else gives your kids certain items, and I know for me getting my first AG doll was a big deal. Do you think we should just gift the doll (one in her likeness) and an extra outfit? Or run it past her parents? </p>
