I always wanted one so bad, but my parents were too frugal to buy me such an expensive doll! Looking back, I don't blame them... but one day if I have a girl, I'd love to get her one. I hope it's something she should treasure, and treat as special, versus abusing it!

Oh I LOVED these as a little girl. Most of the dolls my nana bought us, but I think my parents bought us a couple. I have Kiersten, Samantha, Felicity, Molly and the baby - and so many accessories and clothes. Thankfully all of my stuff is packed away at my parents so that when we have a little girl we can give them to her. Those along with my Madame Alexander dolls were my favorite - but I always wanted to keep them so nice. Original boxes, never took out their hair, etc. craziness! I didn't realize they were getting rid of the historical dolls - I'm so glad I kept mine now!

I read allllll the books and loved AG but my mom absolutely refused to buy me a doll because they were so outrageously expensive. Yet now, my LO shares a name with one of the dolls and mum is already talking about how she'll buy her one!

I always thought these were an East Coast/Southern thing? Nobody I knew growing up had these dolls. Maybe everyone was just too poor, lol. DD is not really into dolls right now, but I guess if she really wanted one we might it for her.

I never heard of them until I was a teenager (I don't think these were popular in Canada?). I think their marketing is GENIUS but I don't know if I would spend that much on a doll.

I had (well, have) Kirsten and will pass her down to my LO.

I actually already bought LO Marisol (and her dress trunk and tons of stuff, eek!) because LO's heritage is part latina, but I won't give her the doll for many years.

They are so expensive, so I want to wait to give her the dolls for when she can really appreciate them.

I didn't have one as a child. They were way too expensive, but I wanted Felicity so bad it hurt. I had a good friend who had them all and a couple doubles and I was beyond jealous. The last trip I took to NYC was 4 years ago around Christmas and it seemed there were American Doll bags everywhere. I kept talking about how badly I always wanted a Felicity doll and for Christmas, my friend surprised me with one. It was one of the sweetest gifts ever.

I had Molly because she looked like me and wore glasses like me. I think my mom would buy one for a future daughter (no kids yet) b/c she lives near an AG store and she is always commenting on how many new ones there are. However, I begged for a second doll when I was a kid and there is no way she was buying ME another one!
