Yes, I love both shows. I have their huge cookbook as well. My favorite recipe is the sweet pastry dough. Love making mini fruit tarts.

@Mrs. J: I agree - all three of those recipes are sooo good! Everyone asks me to make my creamy mashed potatoes every Thanksgiving now!

We have the online subscription, and I agree, I love that they teach you about the science and the reasoning behind why each step in the recipe is there!

My DH does most of the cooking and our current faves are herb crusted salmon and jambalaya. I'm going to have to check on the scrambled eggs! Tonight he is making shepherd's pie for our Irish dinner :)

I love their baked ziti recipe. Changed the way I make it! I recently bought their enormous cookbook and have been going through a flagging recipes. I love all their tips and tricks and the fact that they have tested the recipes so I don't have to.

I no longer have a subscription but still refer to back issues and watch the show. I love the quick tips at the beginning of each issue!

I use so many of their recipes and have modified them to be gluten-free. My favorite is the glazed all-beef meatloaf - it's a complicated recipe but the absolute best. I just picked up the special skillet recipes issue and have already tested out the shrimp and grits, yum!

Love it, and my friend works for them! It's thrilling to see her in the background on the TV show. I like learning the science behind cooking. And it's basically a guarantee that anything I make from them is going to be good.

LOVE IT. Our favorites right now are the meat lasagna, the ultimate creamy mashed potatoes, and the roast chicken.

I love how geeky they are about the science behind cooking. I love their experiments.

The brown sugar cookies are AMAZING. Everyone raves about them when I make them. The ultimate banana bread recipe is always extremely good, but it takes a few extra steps to make. I love some of their savory recipes too, but can't remember which ones right now (mommy brain).

My mom gave me their HUGE cookbook for Christmas. It's almost overwhelming how many recipes are in there! BUt I've been using it fairly often. I love all the little tricks. Like using soy sauce in unexpected dishes (umami) or microwaving onions+olive oil instead of sauteeing them.

I recently made a bomb ass coffee cake out of the book! I add notes on what works and what doesn't (MOAR STREUSEL!) etc

Cooks Illustrated is my go-to source whenever I want to try something new. Our all-time favorite is their green bean casserole. You make it from scratch (no canned mushroom soup) and yet is is still fairly quick and easy. And SO delicious - our families now request for every holiday!

What do you love about ATK/CC? What are some of your favorite recipes?

My favorite thing is that I feel like they really taught me how to cook. I learned the recipes, but more importantly, I learned the concepts behind the recipes - blooming the spices, the effect of baking powder/soda, why we scrape up the browned bits, etc. - and apply them to all of my cooking, whether it's an ATK/CC recipe or not. Of course, I also love that the recipes are pretty much foolproof.

My favorite recipes are chewy brownies, chocolate chip cookies and scrambled eggs (seriously - their scrambled eggs tip changed my world!).
