I love the quick tips at the beginning of each issue! </p> <p>I use so many of their recipes and have modified them to be gluten-free. My favorite is the glazed all-beef meatloaf - it's a complicated recipe but the absolute best. I love their experiments.</p> <p>The brown sugar cookies are AMAZING. Everyone raves about them when I make them. The ultimate banana bread recipe is always extremely good, but it takes a few extra steps to make. It's almost overwhelming how many recipes are in there! BUt I've been using it fairly often. I love all the little tricks. Like using soy sauce in unexpected dishes (umami) or microwaving onions+olive oil instead of sauteeing them. </p> <p>I recently made a bomb ass coffee cake out of the book! What are some of your favorite recipes? </p> <p>My favorite thing is that I feel like they really taught me how to cook. I learned the recipes, but more importantly, I learned the concepts behind the recipes - blooming the spices, the effect of baking powder/soda, why we scrape up the browned bits, etc. - and apply them to all of my cooking, whether it's an ATK/CC recipe or not. Of course, I also love that the recipes are pretty much foolproof.</p> <p>My favorite recipes are chewy brownies, chocolate chip cookies and scrambled eggs (seriously - their scrambled eggs tip changed my world!). </p>
