A lot of kids enjoy different materials like metal or wood. I would look to those as alternatives.

Cute!

The big thing that I like about Sophie is that I can put a toy leash on her and not lose her- especially now that he likes to play "fetch" with me. Mommy is a good retriever.

@Coco Bee: Good point! I ended up buying the chicken wing. DD likes to gnaw on my knuckle so it's kind of the same shape. My mom's just about to send a package so I have to act fast so it can make the trip!

I can not wait to see ppl's reaction to that here! I'm betting someone will call CPS! Haha!

@Crumbs: the chicken wing is so funny!!!

the only comment I have about the ribs though is that it looks like one long piece and babies tend to stick long toys deep in their mouth which induces gagging. They don't learn not to shove it all the way back for awhile! Cobi still does it so I make sure not to give him anything that is long.

I take that back, I found the company that makes the ribs online and they're made of silicone. I think I'm gonna try them out.

I'm looking for a thick teether that's not a pacifier and that'll fit into LO mouth and she can hold easily. Something like a Sophie, but I want to see what the alternatives are before I buy her.

I found one that wasn't so thin: rib and a chicken wing! It's hilarius! But there's not enough reviews and I don't know how I feel about a newish company.

Here's the rib and chicken wing:
