@septemberlove: Yes I had my first anatomy scan at 19 weeks but they couldnt see LO's back or kidneys. She refused to turn over no matter what we did, so I had to go back at 22 weeks. and this time they were able to see everything clearly.

Yes, we had to go back again to the perinatologist, then they sent us to a pediatric/fetal cardiologist because they wouldn't sign off on the heart views. It sounds like we had a similar experience because they tried to make it clear that they didn't suspect anything but that they have to be able to 'sign off' on all of the parts they have to see. I was very nervous to go to the specialist but everything was fine. The specialist visit was a little longer, but she signed off on all the views even though LO was still in a difficult position.

yep! they couldn't get the measurement for all 4 chambers of his heart so we had to go back in 2 or so weeks. It'll be fine! just another chance to see your LO!

Yeah we had to go back in week or so later so they could see her heart properly. Don't worry, it's totally standard procedure, they just want to get a good proper look at everything for their records.

We had to go back in for another round of measurements because of poor fetal position. Little girl was hiding for the last set of measurements they needed. A week later we went back and everything was totally normal. She's perfectly healthy.

Don't worry about them bringing you back in. It doesn't mean anything is wrong, just that they have a checklist of things to measure and the checklist isn't complete.

And it's nice to see the baby again.

DH and I had our anatomy scan yesterday, we'd already opted for an elective ultrasound to know the gender at 16 weeks and knew we were team blue.

I was a bit nervous going in, just hoping and praying that everything would look good and luckily, he's doing just fine in there! He was a stubborn little guy, refusing to turn over and show his face. The doctor said that there is no suspicion of abnormalities, but because of his position, they didn't get as many facial and heart measurements as they'd like, so we'll be seeing Jr. again in a few weeks! He reiterated that nothing was wrong, that everything looked great, his heartbeat was strong, he was growing well, and that all the measurements they were able to get were right on track.

The momma bear in me is a little worried that they feel strongly enough about getting additional measurements to have us come back in, but at the same time, the doctor was so adament that there was nothing wrong. So I'm going to believe him (doctors can't lie, can they?) and be incredibly thankful for our healthy (albeit subborn!) little miracle :)

Did anyone else have to go back for additional measurements because of a stubborn LO?
