@MusicaV: That's awesome, if I could keep a secret I would do this! However, I am a secret spiller and would never be able to keep my mouth shut no matter how hard I tried :)

Thanks for the positive thoughts! It definitely was a better experience than last time. The biggest issue is that we sat in the waiting room for 30+ minutes. BTW, DH asked if he could videotape it, and she said no, it was a liability.

I know some of my friends have told me that depending on how the practice is set up sometimes the ultrasound techs aren't allowed to really give any information. They are just supposed to get the info, and send it to the doctor to communicate to the patient. So that may be part of the issue? But that doesn't mean you can't ask questions... if she's not allowed to answer them she'll let you know. I was really lucky and had an amazing tech at my first ultrasound and I hope I continue to see her. But I know some of them can be not so friendly because they are just so desensitized from the process.

ask as many questions as you can! Our u/s tech was great and basically gave us a "tour" of our baby, highlighting every little detail and I loved it. I hope she's in a better mood tomorrow for you :)

Yes, ask away! Our u/s tech was awesome and did alot of talking but that didn't stop us from asking questions anyway. I just asked things like "what's that?" or "why is it shaped like that". I was probably annoying but it forced her to talk and explain things so I kept doing it. haha. And definitely let her know right away that you're team green because you dont' want her to accidentally "slip". With my first pregnancy, I had always wished I wasn't so shy about asking questions because I would go home and feel so clueless about what just happened at the doc's office. So I decided with baby #2, I wouldn't be shy and just ask what I needed to ask. That's what doctors and nurses are there for! To make sure you and your baby are healthy, body AND mind!

Good luck! Sorry you don't love your ultrasound tech.... there's two at my OB's office, one I love and one not so much. Unfortunately I got the not so nice one for the anatomy scan. But it doesn't make that moment any less special for you! I would feel free to ask questions, it's only natural to want to know about your baby.

We have our anatomy scan tomorrow, and I am excited, nervous, and so many other emotions. When we had our last ultrasound, the tech was... eh. She didn't introduce herself when she walked in. She didn't talk that much, and a lot of the time when she did, she was facing away from us. DH didn't particularly like her. Our office only uses one tech, so we're definitely seeing her tomorrow.
If she doesn't talk a lot, should we ask questions? What questions should we ask? Has anybody videotaped their anatomy scan? BTW, we are team green, although I am tempted to have her write down the gender on a piece of paper and seal it in an envelope, in case I change my mind. Has anyone else done this?
