Wonder week! I wasn't familiar with this term so I had to look it up. Explains a lot! My LO has been STTN (8 hours +) since she was 8 weeks old. She's going to be 12 weeks old tomorrow and her sleep has gotten SO BAD the last two nights. She would wake up every 3 hours for a feeding. Maybe she's going through her wonder week too? I dunno, but whatever it is I hope it passes soon and she gets back to her previous schedule. I'm going back to work next week and her night wakings gonna stink!!!

I'm going through this right now so just thought I would commiserate in your pain! Misery loves company right :)

My LO seemed to have missed wonder week 5 (or maybe it ended up entertained with her 6 week growth spurt) but she just hit 8 weeks and like you said, my sweet sleeper suddenly disappeared! Tonight, she has slept a grand total of maybe one hour at best do far (3am my time) and has cried the rest.

Good times right?! We'll make it though!

I also found that the older they got, the longer the wonder weeks would last. It will pass!!

It seemed that they got longer as he got older. So the first ones were a few days and by 22 months it was like 4 weeks long.

@twoofeverything: yes! two nights ago was an awesome, awesome night of sleep, and then during the day yesterday she napped like a champ. Then all of a sudden at like 8pm last night she went nuts and has hardly slept at all since!

Ours usually last a few days, and they're more obvious for my DS than for my DD. DS usually has one or two days of no sleep followed, (or sometimes preceded) by one or two days of ROCK STAR sleep. Then the waters calm again until the next 'leap.'
He was the fussiest, maddest baby until his last leap, which happened over the last couple of weeks. Someone flipped a switch and he is now (comparatively) SO calm, sweet, and happy!

Sadie has just entered into her first wonder week & I'm already going nuts. My awesome little sleeper now refuses to sleep. My calm, chilled out baby who hardly ever cried is now so dang fussy.

The wonder week has brought some fun developments -- she's starting to smile at us, which is so awesome. But I feel like a zombie. Lack of sleep turns me into a huge b, so I'm getting nervous for Dan!

How long did these phases last for you? A whole week? Encourage me so I don't lose it completely!
