We have one but it is the basic sound only, no movement or video and we haven't had an issue with it. I would say the quality of the brand is high but it all depends on what you want out of a monitor if it is the right fit for you.

I just read this blog post that made me laugh about the angel care video monitor!

We use ours with the sensor (no video) and we really love it.

My friend gave me hers and said that she hardly used the sensing pad thing. I never used it and mainly use it for audio and as an extra monitor b/c we have three floors. We actually have 4 different monitors (2 video, 2 audio). I bought the Motorola video monitor one right before we had our second and it's, by far, the best one. Video is really clear and the sound super clear.

I have one and I'm sure it's not the products fault, but we turned it on last night and it was all loud static (we have powerlines close to our house)...we only bought the regular monitor without video (around $150) but we'll be returning it. We plugged in our good old graco monitor and used that although it doesn't have the movement sensor. I probably would feel okay with a regular video monitor instead.

@lydg: It's always such a bummer that there isn't that "one perfect thing" that will keep your baby safe and sound... but I think mama's instinct is the best and truest monitor!

From what I understand, they have not been shown in scientific study to prevent SIDS death... in fact there is some evidence that parents who use such monitors are falsely reassured.

I just read about the Angelcare 3 in 1 monitor last night. Looks pretty awesome and reviews are good. I'm wondering if it is worth the nearly $300 price tag. I took off my Summer View from my registry which was highly rated in favor of this and now I'm second guessing. Anyone own an Angelcare? Pros/cons?
