@blackbird: I took some ibuprofen right before I wrote this post but taking that plus writing the alphabet with my feet actually helped a ton! Thanks!

@evansjamie: I've felt like this from boots before but I wasn't super active before so I'm thinking it just made it feel worse this time.

It might be the boots. I've had foot/ankle problems from wearing certain shoes a lot, or even wearing new shoes and walking in them a lot the first day.

My ankles hurt when I run long distances. It turns out that my arches are flattening out and it's putting too much strain on those muscles. I'm not supposed to run more than 5 miles anymore because of it.

DH also has major ankle pain and it's due to some ligament damage and erosion that's gone on over time.

At the very least, i'd stretch them out really good. My podiatrist told me to write the alphabet with my foot.

I am going to ask a nurse that I know this question too and I'm probably going to go to a doctor if it isn't better in a few days but I figured I'd ask everyone here too.

I just started exercising a few weeks ago. I've been doing C25K three days a week and the 30 Day Shred anywhere from 3-5 days a week. This weekend we went to visit family so I ended up not exercising on Saturday and Sunday.

When we got home Sunday (and a little before), I noticed that my ankles felt really stiff. When I tried to climb the stairs at our house, it hurt. This way yesterday and it still takes some effort to get up the stairs and back down. I tried to exercise this morning and I couldn't run but ended up doing the 30 Day Shred in hopes that it would stretch out my ankle muscles.

It is painful too. DH thinks it's because I didn't do the same amount of activity the past two days and I'm wondering if it has anything to do with wearing boots almost all weekend when I hardly ever do. Does anyone have any ideas? Dr. Google keeps telling me arthritis which I'm fairly sure isn't right.
