We sort of wanted to wait another couple weeks for NT results, but we decided to just tell our parents then since we will be together anyway. Fx that won't be a mistake. We are going to invite my MIL too, though we have to figure out how to tell her that her boyfriend isn't welcome this time. (My husband's father passed away three years ago. The boyfriend is perfectly nice but relatively new. We would rather just share the news with her first since we don't know him too well yet.)</p> <p>This weekend I printed a scan of our first ultrasound. Above the image it says, "TEMPORARY PHOTO". Below it says "Official version e.t.a. February 23, 2014. I put it into a picture frame and wrapped it up to be my dad's birthday present.</p> <p>I think I might tip off my sister when we have dinner tonight, though. I think she feels a little fragmented from my parents for various reasons -- just personality differences, not conflicts per se but lack of connection -- and I would rather give her a chance to react on her own first. I am confident that I can trust her not to spill the beans. We're pg again and I was planning on waiting until 12 weeks to tell anyone. We had our 1st appointment at 8w3d and got to see baby &amp; hear the heartbeat. His family was in town and its rare that both sides get together, so we had everyone over for dinner and shared the news (8w6d). Didn't do anything cute, just gave both mother's envelopes with photos of the ultra sound (I kept the best ones for myself, LOL!) Basically since then, we've just been telling everyone, but not putting it on FB. (My MIL almost spilled the beans on FB saying that she got a wonderful "surprise" at the party. I got so annoyed because there aren't many possible surprises that could have happened with everyone there.)</p> <p>I've been so nervous that I've told so many people and something is going to go wrong. So, friends and fam that see us already know, and we'll probably announce on FB with a photo of DD wearing a "big sis" tee, sometime after the first U/S at around 8 weeks. For me, personally, and I know it's a touchy and heart-wrenching subject, I'd want the support of friends and family if something did, God forbid, happen, so I don't mind people knowing before 12 weeks. Also, I realized that I, personally, would rather people be aware if I miscarry just so we don't get any "when are you having kids" type comments too soon. </p> <p>Since I decided to tell abruptly, I didn't have a chance to do anything too cute. I wound up calling the people who needed a call, then I found a site that does those pregnancy tickers and posted one to FB. </p> <p>As a side note, I don't have anyone on FB other than close friends and family. I experienced the same situation, a loss at 10wks, but the hr was low and it was measuring about a week an a half small. This time I had an u/s @. 8 weeks and I'm measuring right on and hr is fast and strong.
