I was on a business trip at about 8 weeks and ended up having to buy a new outfit because the bloat rendered one I'd brought along unwearable...so I had a really nice conversation about why I was shopping with the nice saleslady at Nordstrom. And I usually sit at the bar when I go to restaurants alone, so I also told the bartender because it felt awkward to sit at the bar and not drink, and ended up chatting to the couple sitting next to me about it (they were newly empty-nesters, so on the other end of the parenting spectrum, haha). There were a bunch of other times, as well. I figured, I was never going to see these people again, so why not? I was still just SO SUPER excited and I hadn't even told my mom yet because I was waiting to do it in person. I think she thought it was slightly strange (she was like "wow-- I know before your mom-- I feel honored!" lol) but whatever. He was so excited.
