You'll need to work out some preliminary details, especially if you have a small office, about how everything is going to work around your pregnancy. People will undoubtedly ask you things like "when are you due?", "how long will you be gone?", and will basically want to know how it will affect their workload (even if they're too tactful to directly ask that.) Your boss will want to talk to you about these things first so that your coworkers questions (and potential concerns) can be addressed immediately. I announced to my coworkers a few weeks later. This time I was planning to tell my boss and coworkers at the same time at our holiday dinner (since it will be obvious when I don't order a drink). There's only 5 of us at dinner. But now I'm thinking, wait, should I tell my boss privately first before dinner? Does it matter? What would you do? </p>
