So couldn't these people just be overly excited for you. I don't think they mean to be annoying. Well, unless it's an old high school friend who you didn't like and haven't spoke to them in ages asking. (well, to be nosey, of course.)

I agree that you should go invisible on gchat. You can initiate conversations with the people you want to talk to and the annoying people will never know!

I remember that time fondly. It was the last time I got much attention :). Now it's all about the girls! The only statements I hated were the big and fat ones. Never good!

Yes! I am 3 days overdue and between phones ringing and buzzing I get no sleep. I would like to shut myself off from the world until things happen and people dont realize that I am frustrated with being overdue and the constant bombardment of questions isnt helping!

@MamaMoose: lmao! I hope the speaker knew the difference between vulva and vag. that is one of my pet peeves!

I get all sorts of fun things, strangers and family/friends alike. The cashier at Hanes Outlet (I brought my grandmother) told me that because I know what I'm having, I won't get anything I need at my shower - she "KNOWS because she went to one of those showers."

My sister in law is due any minute now. Is it okay if I bother my brother? I don't ask him every day. It's more every week or so. We work at different times and live in different time zones so it's always easier for me to text him.

I also got annoyed with the constant, "how are you feeling?" But now that I have friends that are pregnant I say it to them. I'm scared if I don't they'll think I don't care.

I'm only 14 weeks so far. The only annoying comments were really a 4th cousin or so, teenager, that I don't really know going apesh*t over it (but she just annoys me in general.) Oh, and a friend who makes NOTHING but annoying comments, pregnant or not (like "Oh, you felt your baby at 14 weeks? Just wait until you do something it REALLY doesn't like!" Uh, honey? I'm not EXPECTED to feel the baby for another 4 weeks. How about "just wait until one of its limbs is bigger than your pinkie"?) I'm the last of my friends/family to get pregnant, aside from two younger cousins (one of whom is nine years old), so there aren't really many stupid comments they don't know better than to make.

I haven't made the pregnancy fb-official yet, and have only told 4 people, but I'm already anticipating something like that. I have a friend who drove me absolutely-freaking-batty during our wedding planning and honeymoon, I can only imagine what a total nutbag she's going to be once she finds out I'm pregnant. In the weeks leading up to and just after our wedding, she called/texted/facebooked/emailed me, I kid you not, 4 times a day. Just stupid crap like "You're getting married in x-number of days!" I wanted to be like, "OMG, REALLY?!?! I had no idea that the wedding I've busted my ass planning for for the past 10 months is only 4 days away! Thanks for the reminder!" I was so annoyed, I finally told her to knock it off. So she started calling my MOH/sister. Oh.My.God.

THEN, just this past week, she sent me a super-long text asking about our vacation and "Did you make a baby?" I wanted to reach through the phone and knock her block off.

Yes! The random people Facebook messaging me asking questions are annoying but yesterday my MIL said the most annoying comment yet...
She hasn't asked about the pregnancy at all and she doesn't talk to DH or I very often but she texts him yesterday saying: "where is my grand daughter?" and DH said something like she's taking her sweet time and she responds, "Grandma says she can take as long as she wants. Let me know when Heather goes into labor."

Our plan is to not let anyone know I'm in labor. I want that alone time with my husband not DH's family. And that's great that "grandma says she can take her time" but my doctor says she can't because I'm high risk with high blood pressure and she's estimated to be almost 9 pounds!

@jennylynn: I hear you on those!

I think almost every single person i told that i was pregnant asked "was it planned?" One of my friends was even upset i didn't tell her sooner and that i had been trying! After i told her it was "semi-planned" as in NTNT. The kicker was when a stranger asked me if it was planned last week? I think my eyes popped out of my head.

I don't mind people asking "how are you feeling?" but what gets annoying is when i say "good", they keep going: "you're not getting sick" i say "nope". then they go into the history of how sick they were when they were pregnant. The conversation itself is not that annoying or rude, i just find it's getting repetitive.

I had my first annoying comment today. I had a client ask me if I was sure I was really 15 weeks pregnant!! She was going on and on about how she couldn't believe I'm not showing. I have had the stomach flu the past two days and I'm already feeling stressed about the fact that between my morning sickness and the stomach flu I'm down 4 lbs from pre-pregnancy and that was just NOT the comment I needed today.

Yep - I've had a ton of totally random people that I haven't talked to in years suddenly become very interested in my pregnancy. I guess it is nice to share with others going through the same thing, but its weird since we haven't spoken in so long. And the questions are rather intrusive.

I get daily gchats these days from a girl who I am acquaintances with. It goes something like this: "How are you? Any movement yet? Baby coming soon? When's your next appointment?" I know it's said as a kind gesture to see how I'm doing but I'm so over it! When the baby comes, you'll know. I'm not going to give you minute by minute updates on how dilated I am and when I go into labor, etc. Ugh.

Anyone else dealing with this/had to deal with it? Is ignoring the best bet at this point?
