We have the Britax, and my mom recently got the Graco to keep in her car for my son. The Britax feels so much easier to use in every way. I don't know how much of that is because we're used to it, but we hardcore struggled to get the Graco installed in my mom's car and get a good fit. Like @LBee mentioned though - the Britax is HUGE!

Ever since installed our britax frontier with clicktight, I would choose a britax with that feature every time. It does a seatbelt install, rock solid, in a minute. Even though it’s super heavy, if we have to move one seat into DH’s car I always choose that one because it’s so easy. And once kids are over 40 lbs they should be in a seatbelt installation, not latch (BUT, my almost 5 year old just passed 40 lbs, so that’s a long way off).

But yeah so much depends on the car too, especially in a smaller car like a carolla.

@kiddosc: Ha, no! I mean the carseat is like having a sasquatch sitting behind you.

@LBee: lol... it didn't even occur to me it would be a typo. I just assumed you were talking consumer reports testing.

@kiddosc: ha, sorry for the typo. I think it's more because of width than depth, though?

@LBee: @MaryM: The 4ever is also rated a "BEST"

I think it's worth trying them both in your car if you're able, definitely worth the hassle. There is so much variability between each car and each seat that photos in different types of cars wouldn't really be all that helpful.

@MaryM: Ha! I guess I'm now a seasoned carseat user and unless you are talking seatbelt install I think nothing of doing that. Our son rear faced until 3+ so I think it is not absurd to go try installs! This is a long term commitment!

We bought and returned a 4Ever because no matter what we did we could not get a tight install in my car at the time (Toyota Venza). I've never had trouble getting a perfect install on a Britax with the ClickTight feature. So the Britax would be my pick. I believe the Marathon is a bit smaller than the Boulevard if you want to look at that option.

I have a britax, but I don't think it's a boulevard for an "emergency" carseat incase my parents or sister has to come get my son or whatever and I hate the latch straps on it.

Like I said in the other thread the 4evers are fantastic and I like the no thread adjustment. (The britax was a close friend's of mine's seat so it's almost to it's expiration date, and I hate rethreading straps.) The graco installs easily. The one thing I don't like is the tether strap doesn't split around the headrest so I have a permadent in my headrest on my car.

@LBee: I thought about going to a buy buy baby to try them both...but I think we'd have to uninstall and reinstall the carrier base from the center to do so, and would the pain of that be worth it? Ugh.

I wish they advertised images of their seats in various sized cars to help you decide.

I've used both! While I prefer the Boulevard, it is a BEAST. My husband (over 6 feet) can't drive with it behind his seat. I believe it's 3 inches deeper than the Graco, which makes a huge difference. I ultimately prefer the Boulevard (mainly because of clicktight), but I personally would go to a store that has both and try installing them in your car to see which works best. Feature wise (other than clicktight) there isn't much difference - it's going to be a question of comfort. Even with the seat on the passenger side (I still use it), my passenger's seat is fairly uncomfortably close to the dash.

Has anyone tried both? Or if you considered both, what made you decide one over the other?

DH drives an SUV. I drive a corolla (so size is definitely a factor!)

Target has a good price on the Graco. Before I saw that sale, I was thinking I'd keep my eyes open on Prime day.

DS is currently running short, but is only 5 months old. DH is 6'3 and I'm 5'3...so it's a toss up whose genes he ended up with.
