I had so man of those as well. You can also try moist heat along with the other suggestions... Massage in shower, soak nipple in Epsom salt soak, hot moist towels, etc? I would definitely try what @Ree723: said about the lecithin! Mine usually unclogged pretty quick, but a couple were still sore for a couple days after (felt like I had been punched in the boob). I used to get really persistent ones that would last for two to three days. The only thing that worked for me was keeping a rice sock on it nearly nonstop (constantly reheating it in the microwave) and having DH massage it whilst I was on all fours, leaning over a towel. He could always reach it better than I could and had the benefit of getting at it from an optimal angle. It was weird and I definitely felt like a cow being milked, but it worked!</p> <p>As a side note, if you are getting recurring blocked ducts, taking soy lecithin works wonders at preventing them. Something about being a fat emulsifier and helping the milk flow through the ducts easier. I started using it and only got one blocked duct after that, and that was after I hadn't taken it for nearly two weeks.
