We actually went with another convertible.

DD1 is 3.5, rear facing, and still has 4" and 5lbs before she outgrows her seat in RF. It's another 27lbs and 10" before she'll outgrow it FF. Even though she's big for her age, the limits on her seat are high enough that she'll probably get at least another 3-4 years from it.

I had planned to move her to another seat but she's happy RF so we're just going to stick with it while we can.

If your daughter is forward facing in the convertible, then yes, I'd just make the move to harness to booster seats.

I will be in the same boat in December and I'm planning to get a new seat for the big girl (she's been forward facing since the baby was born). I've done zero research on which seat though.

Definitely buy your daughter new seats and pass hers down.

I would get your daughter the harness-to-booster seats and pass the convertible seats down to your son. That is what I plan on doing with my kids and it's probably the most economical choice.

Our DS just turned 1 and is still in his infant seat, but we are starting to shop for our next seats. My DD is 3.5 and is currently in a britax marathon convertible seat. She is on the smaller side 36" and around 27 lbs.
I'm wondering if it would be best just to get her into a combo harness/booster seat like the britax pinnacle or just to buy another set of marathons. If we bought her a new seat, then my son would move into her marathon seats. We have to buy two seat (one for each of our cars).
