I did a cross body diaper bag, baby in beco Gemini and computer in backpack (and a carseat) through the airport last year when I visited my sister. Either will work just do what is comfortable for you. Usually I just put a diaper in a purse or leave everything in the car and go back to it.

A few weeks ago we did disneyland for an afternoon and all I took was the Gemini and his little preschool backpack. The rule was if he peed through the 3 diapers, we were going home. He is two and mostly potty learned. That was really easy.

Ergo, I use the front pocket.
K'tan, I use with a stroller or have DH carry bag.

I did just get this Ergo backpack for DH to wear for traveling. It's smaller than my diaper bags and pretty lightweight. It can strap onto the carrier and it's own straps can be tucked away. Apparently it doesn't count as a carry-on or luggage that way either!

When i babywear, I'm usually not going out for hours and hours, where I would need my big diaper bag. It's usually out for lunch, or out for some errands. If I need to bring a bag, I'll just use a regular small cross body purse, stick my wallet, phone, keys, and a toy in there for LO, and wear it under the ergo. The ergo has a pocket in front that's big enough for two or three diapers and some wipes, and that's really all I need!

I babywear with a sling and use a coach diaper bag. I carry the bag by the shorter shorter straps and it fits fine against my side/back (I.e., doesn't flop all over place like with longer straps)

I've never had a problem using a cross body bag while babywearing. I typically use my PPB boxy backpack, which I always carry as a cross body bag, when I carry LO in the Ergo. I removed the detachable changing pad - it makes the bag much softer and a lot less boxy.

Check out ju ju be BFF. I love this bag. It's not too bulky and I've used this bag while baby wearing. Comes in handy when you're not baby wearing too.

hmmm for me i've never carried a bag while baby wearing. it always coincided with dh around (to carry bag), or i was just running into a store for under an hour so i would just either leave the bag in the car and take my wallet, or put the bag in the shopping cart.

i've seen friends carry a small nylon backpack for walks around the city!

For short jaunts I use the Ergo and stuff things in the pocket. If we'll be out all day I use our backpack. Mine is from Everlane. In my experience, a backpack is the only type of bag that is comfortable when babywearing for any extended amount of time.

I wore my diaper bag just over one shoulder, and it was a pain. Sometimes I wore a regular backpack, which was more comfortable but I missed having all the different compartments. With dc2 I am looking into the backpack ergo came out with, it looks like it attaches to the shoulder straps.

On short outings I've worn a raincoat that has larger pockets and just tucked a couple diapers, a few wipes, and a small thing of purell. On longer trips I use my regular diaper bag (technically a big handbag). The bag I have has both a cross body strap and shorter handles. I just carry it on my elbow instead of across or on my shoulder.

I have the same question! I usually use my tiny cross body purse if I'm just going to get a coffee or do a grocery run - but if I want to go farther afield, how do I carry what I need? I used a bigger cross body purse last week for a 1.5 hour trip, but found it awkward and felt like I had straps all over me...

I know this has been asked before, but what do you carry with you when you are babywearing? Seems like the PPB Boxy Backpack is popular for that, but that seems so big, and well, boxy. Can you wear a cross body or messenger type bag underneath the carrier? I know when I'm wearing a backpack and try to carry a shoulder bag it's annoying, so I assume it's the same way with the baby carrier (Beco Gemini, if that makes any difference). Or do you just have a little tote for babywearing days and a regular diaper bag for other times?

My criteria are not super dorky looking, not heavy (baby and all the baby gear will be heavy enough), and not too big but not too small. I live in the city and will have a stroller a lot of the time, but I hope sometimes to go out for at least a few hours with just the carrier (though I've never worn a baby for more than half an hour so far, when I "borrowed" my friend's baby and Ergo :)
