@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: we have electric too, so we went with a model that has a glass cooktop and then two ovens down below. it's been awesome!

 thanks! Now I get to research stoves. If only I could get a gas line and my food would taste better.

We have mismatched appliances. We put in a new stainless steel dishwasher upon moving in, then we replaced our oven (stainless steel). Our fridge is old and an almond color and our microwave is black. Oh well. We are just going to eventually replace the remaining appliances with stainless steel as they die.

Our appliances are now all stainless. We lived in the house for 8 years with a mix of black and stainless. And even now that we've replace everything, they aren't all the same brand.

It will be fine as long as you still buy stainless and not slate or something like that. I doubt anyone will notice. We have a stainless dishwasher and fridge but our stove is white. It doesn't really bother me. I'm just waiting for the stove to die before I buy a new one.

My appliances aren't the same brand and I never notice. The only thing that stands out is the fridge because it's white and everything else is stainless.

@looch: yeah, it would still all be stainless steel.

@LCTBQE: true, true...the kitchen isn't big, but at least the appliances are all on different sides of the U-shape. No one would notice at first glance they were different.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: not a homeowner so I have little control over my appliances, but I love interiors and design. Wanted to say I think not having everything matchy-matchy can be great! Sometimes when things are attractive in their own right, when they're all together they look really nice and can be less trying-too-hard than the Price Is Right matching set

It's all already stainless? How much different is it really going to look? When we had the mismatch going on, we had white and were replacing with stainless, so it looked terrible!

Both big burners on our stove have died. DH is finally getting on board that we may need to buy a new stove. Duh!

When we had the stove repairman come out to see if the one burner (at that time) could be salvaged we realized the appliances were all bought at the same time as a suite. Everything is over 12 or 14 years old. I can't remember, but they are older. Anyway with all of it matching- the stainless steel finish and hardware I wonder if a new stove and microwave (yep that needs to be replaced too) will look weird if they don't 100% match. I'm sure I won't be able to talk DH into buying a new fridge and dishwasher anyway, but now I'm worried the kitchen will look a bit off.

Do you have mismatched appliances? How does it look?
