I told her I didn't want a csection or an episiotomy and she was like, "girrrl, no one does!"<br /> In the end I needed the episiotomy if I wanted a vaginal birth because of my big posterior baby. He also tried to give the doctor hand sanitizer because they had seen an episode of ER or some similar medical show where the doctor gave a woman spinal meningitis during delivery. I utterly despise them &amp; feel they're a complete disservice to women! Most women AND men think that's how birth is &amp; they're both scared to death by it! Women fear being in agonizing pain &amp; men feel helpless in ignorance like they can't do/know anything to help! I am taking advantage of pre-baby maternity leave and watching Friends with Kids. Lying on the bed screaming and pushing and when she says she doesn't want an episiotomy the dr. just rolls his eyes and snips her (that was actually the part that bothered me)! </p> <p>I guess now that I know there are other options I can laugh it off, but for so long I thought that was just how it was done and I hate that it is constantly being perpetuated in movies. </p> <p>Rant over. </p>
