I just got my instant pot last weekend!

I'm planning on keeping my slow cooker because it is smaller than the instant pot. It's nice to have a couple different sizes of crock pots.

We also have a rice cooker that I plan on keeping. I imagine we will have some meals where we will want to use both the instant pot and the rice cooker? We'll see how it goes. They don't last forever, so maybe when it breaks we won't replace it.

I have this same dilemma, when I got the IP I had no idea that it was also a slow cooker, our rice cooker had broken so that was the impetus to purchase it.

I am going to keep our slow cooker bc a) it's a really nice one and was a wedding gift and I feel bad getting rid of it and b) sometimes for parties it is nice to have more than one device to keep things warm c) it's a little bigger I think than the IP.

I have been using the IP mostly though for slow cooking so I am going to put the regular slow cooker away someplace less accessible bc it's eating up room in my tiny kitchen.

I still have my slow cooker - I used the slow cooker function on the IP once and wasn’t happy with the results (although I can’t remember why now) so I don’t use it for that anymore.

I have an Instant Pot and slow cooker and use both. I've read that the IP shines at pressure cooking, rice, yogurt, etc but it's not great as a slow cooker. I haven't tested that function personally, though. But I use both weekly!

@muffinsmuffins: I can totally see me doing that too. I’m wondering if I just stick with what I know right now and wait and get an IP later if I still really want to try one out. Decisions, decisions!

@jhd: I haven't actually used the slow cooker function on the IP...I'm familiar with my good ol slow cooker so I just use it instead out of laziness ha

@skinnycow: thanks that’s good to know.

@muffinsmuffins: any reason you use the slow cooker and not the slow cooker feature on the IP? I could see myself keeping one of our 2 slow cookers at least until I really get used to using the IP.

I still have my slow cooker but haven't used it in a year... I should probably get rid of it. I didn't have a rice cooker before but I'd imagine that wouldn't be getting any use also.

For those that have an Instant Pot, did you get rid of your slow cooker, rice cooker, etc?

I spent some time today cleaning out our kitchen and I’m thinking about how to save space etc. We currently have two slow cookers and a 3-cup rice cooker. On average we use them once a week. Considering adding an Instant Pot to my Christmas list and having just one appliance to store. Any thoughts?
