My LO wouldn't sleep on the hard pad that comes with it, but my sister always let hers sleep on it without any issues. Our son slept perfectly on the included base for a week straight. He was plenty comfortable. I think it has to do with problems of pressure/flattening the skull. But, same issue for leaving the baby in one position for too long in any contraption. It's hard so I put down 2 blankets. LO sleeps in it every night.<br /> I think you're fine having your baby sleep in it until s/he starts sitting up, pulling up? Newborns just lie there.<br /> My 5 week old is doing fine with our set up. He sleeps 8-10 hours straight a night! Sorry!</p> <p>So we went to register today and went with most everyone's rec and got the PnP w/napper/changer. </p> <p>The lady had us super confused about two things though:</p> <p>1) She said we HAVE to get a separate mattress to go inside the PnP if the baby will sleep in it every night. However, if it has a mattress when in "bassinet" setting (the bottom raised), it'll be too high and the baby can't sleep in there so we have to put it on the bottom! This sort of defeats the purpose as the PnP with raised bottom is close to the height of our bed. </p> <p>2) She said you CAN'T have the baby sleeping all night in the Rock'n'Play?! We ended up registering for both after all of your recommendations but I swear everyone has the baby sleeping in there and she said it's only for napping... what the heck?</p> <p>Thanks!!! </p>
