I would suggest taking them in the morning and afternoon so you don't miss a surge. Also, make sure you are holding your pee long enough. You can have a period without ovulating. The l ing still needs to be shed. I averaged 25-26 day cycles and usually ovulated day 10-12. I would start about 12-14 days after I ovulated. I never spotted beforehand.
