good luck!! turn down the baby monitor and listen to music in headphones if you have to (and have your SO watch the monitor)... that's what I'd do during sleep training and it was so so so hard. Also, setting a time limit helped for me as well.. I'd count down the minutes. "If he's still crying after 10 minutes I'll go get him." Then checking a digital clock over and over to see how many minutes I have left. Almost always he'd fall back asleep before I hit the limit I had set.

Aww. Sorry to hear. Do you think she might be going through a growth spurt? I know my LO would wake every 3 hours wanting to eat whenever she went through one..

@sunshine44: yes, that was my LO exactly!

she has never woken up from teething, though. but my friends say that their kids have and they will give them some tylenol.

hang in there!

@Mrs. Bee: thanks for the encouragment, I just don't understand how, after so many weeks, she still has the energy to cry for hours in the middle of the night!

i don't blame sleeplessness on teething. maybe only for molars since they are painful.

just stay consistent! that's the key! you will be victorious! :-)

@Rubies: LOL. I know what you mean but my LO teethes for a VERY long time per tooth. She seems to have the slowest moving teeth EVER (to me anyway, but what do I have to compare it to). You'll see that tiny white sliver and then I swear it takes a month or more to come out. So my LO can easily be in a bad mood for a month until that tooth comes out!

@Andrea: LOL...Everytime I complain about something about LO everyone says, "Maybe she's teething" and I want to pull my hair out! She has been "teething" since she was 4-months old! Sometimes I look at LO in the eyes and say, "Just sprout a tooth already so that we can rule out teething!"

After 2 weeks of progressively good results of sleep training, my 5.5 month old has decided it doesn't work. For the last few nights she's waking up every few hours. So it's now midnight and I'm awake listening to her cry, when she should be fast asleep for another 2 hours :(
