No stretch marks in puberty or with either pregnancy. I was so sure I'd get them because my mom did.

I had minimal in puberty--very minimal. A couple on each hip that are very thin and small and not really very visible at all. My husband has more puberty stretch marks than I do.

Buuuut....I got really bad stretch marks in pregnancy, right around 34-38 weeks. Sucked. Still super visible 15 months after giving birth and I guess now I've accepted that they aren't going away ever.

It all a combination of 3 things: skin elasticity, how much weight you gain, and how you carry. Skin elasticity has a lot to do with genetics and melatonin, plus age. You actually get more elastic with age--hence, the wrinkles. Very fair people are more prone to stretch marks statistically. And then weight gain--the more you gain, the more likely you are to have stretch marks.

I gained too much, am super fair, so that canceled out my "older" skin and I got stretchies.

I didn't get any in puberty. But I got them in my early to mid 20s when I put on weight during a period of anxiety/depression. Still waiting to see with pregnancy (at 27/28) but I fully expect to get more.

Yes. I get stretch marks super easy. I just have that type of skin. I have plenty from puberty and some from when I'd gained a little weight in the past. I knew I'd get a ton of stretch marks during pregnancy. I started getting them at like 20 weeks. I have lots on my tummy now. Luckily my old stretch marks have faded significantly, so hopefully the ones on my belly fade too.

One thing I wasn't sure if I'd get is loose skin, since in the past my skin has always bounced back. However, I do now have a small bit of loose skin in my tummy area after pregnancy. I'm 2 months PP.

I've never had a stretch mark in my life - none during puberty, none during either one of my pregnancies. Lucky genes I guess!

@lilyofthewest: Well that's good, you have a chance! Haha Mine is part letters, so half the letter look like stretched out block letters :/ FWIW, although I got big angry red stretch marks on my stomach, they faded quite a bit afterwards and were hardly noticeable (until I got new ones for baby #2, hoping these go away too!)

I got some on my hips during puberty - not too bad and not too noticeable. Pregnancy #1 - I got some on my stomach but they didn't show until AFTER I had the baby. Pregnancy #2 - This time I got them on my thighs. My body is just not the same after baby #2! I also had them close together.

@swurlygurl: My tattoo is asymmetrical and it is fairly abstract. So, if it stretches/changes shape, I expect that it'll either still be fine, or the design can be reworked when I'm done having babies.

If I get big bands of stretch mark scar tissue running through it...that would be significantly harder to rescue and I'm probably heading to the the Hall of Fame.

Lots, and lots. :(

Are you wondering more about your tattoo? I think that's different than stretchmarks. I have a small tattoo on my hip bone. At 40 weeks pregnant my big preggo belly didn't even touch the tattoo. However, 20 minutes of pushing stretched out my tattoo so bad that it's ruined forever :'(

I got loads on my boobs during puberty which took years to fade, but not a single one during pregnancy (altho I was religious about moisturising my belly twice a day). I've heard it can be hereditary, my mum never got any either despite having four kids. I also have a tattoo on my abdomen, it's not that big though only about 7cm square. It definitely stretched and became larger during pregnancy, but now it has gone back to how it was, you'd never know it had been messed with!

I had a ton on my hips and boobs during puberty. I didn't even know I *still* had them until they deflated post-baby! But not like they are noticeable.

I had a lot on my stomach during my first pregnancy. E was sitting in one side of my abdomen pretty heavily so one side has a TON where her butt was pushing out and the other side sorta doesn't. It's very weird. But they weren't very noticeable by the time i was in shape enough to don a bikini the following summer :) I thought they'd be red and angry forever!

Was your puberty stretch mark experience predictive of your pregnancy stretch mark experience?

I got a lot of stretch marks on my breasts, hips, and thighs during puberty. I was sure I never wanted kids and a got a large abdominal tattoo. I changed my mind about the kids thing...

I hoping that I can get through babymaking with just some touchups and minor design adjustments needed. I'm worried that I'll end up featured in the World's Most Ruined Tattoos Hall of Fame.
