Hmm - I wonder if my LO's recent increase in BMs could be because I am on antibiotics (and nursing).I hadnt been able to figure it out because she looks like she feels fine buy went from 1x/1-2 days to 4x/day - wonder if that's why? Will have to look into it.

Anyway, sorry for the tangent. Yeah, I'd probably let them know.

Agree with the above responders, I think if you tell day care to expect loose stools due to antibiotics, they should understand!

Definitely tell day care that it's a side effect of the meds and not a stomach virus. Keep her hydrated and try to give her lots of yogurt... That should help.

yea i would just explain to them that she's on antibiotics and that it's a normal side effect. is she on probiotics? that should help with the diarrhea.

LO has an ear infection and started amoxicillin on Friday. She hasn't had a fever since then but has 1-2 diarrhea diapers a day. Her Dr. warned us that diarrhea is a common side effect of the antibiotic and not to be concerned.

My daycare has a 3 diarrhea diapers and you are out for the day policy...should I just tell them what the Dr. said? We really can't miss work tomorrow...
