@HLK208: Walgreens should carry it, but they were out and said they would have to order it for $28. I found it on Amazon for $21.

@HLK208: I think it could be the reflux. It makes everything so much worse. My doctor has us using Gerber Soothe probiotic drops and it really helps when something I eat/medicine upsets her already sensitive stomach. I hope both of you feel better soon.

@HLK208: 9 months so much older so that could be the difference. He does have reflux, though, and I've seen no spit up change or difference in poop.

@Boheme: true!
@NavyRN2012: thanks! I got a call back from the ped and she said its such a little amount that she didn't suggest supplementing
@MrsKoala: how old is your LO? Mine is 3 months and regularly deals with acid reflux so it's just more than usual. It's so hard to determine a runny diaper since she's not eating solids yet. It's just seems looser than usual but the ped said it was normal with Augmentin. But if it gets to the point where there's a lot, it's probably something else and not the Augmentin.

According to Lactmed (which is the app my pedi told me to use when determining drug safety in BFing), "an EBF infant would be expected to receive a max daily dose of 0.1mg/kg daily with a maternal dose of 500mg 3x/day, which is 0.25%-0.5% of a typical infant amoxicillin dose."

@matador84: I called her ped to see what he says but I'm waiting for a call back. Maybe I should call my dr too. I'll ask about that antibiotic!

@Weagle: oh yeah, thanks for the reminder!

Don't know about the antibiotics, but add probiotics if you don't already take them. Thrush is a B!

I have had two kidney infections and pneumonia since August. I got put on amoxicillin first and then Cefdinir with no side effects. Can you see if your dr can switch you to Cefdinir?

So I've been taking Augmentin for 3 days now and DD (3 months old) has started spitting up frequently and has runny diapers. This is my second round of antibiotics this month and I'm worried about how much is getting into her little body.

I'm ready to give her formula just so she can keep food down...I'm really sick and NEED these antibiotics (I keep getting strep). Augmentin is suppose to be the safest for new babies...

Anyone else have their LO deal with side effects from mom's milk and antibiotics?
