I had to take antibiotics and told them I was currently trying to get pregnant and they prescribed me something they said was safe in case I was. Which was a good thing since I was about 3 weeks pregnant and had no idea lol
Don't freak out too much.

There are safer ones to take. Amoxacillian falls under class B, which is safe for pregnant women. A stronger one, Cipro, is a class C and is not recommended for pregnant women. I was prescribed Cipro during my TWW, they didnt' seem concerned. I went ahead and took it cause the UTI sucked... but it turned out it wasn't pregnant anyways.
Here's a list of antibiotics and their classification.

I'm on amoxacillin right now also - I'm 8 weeks pregnant. I have strep throat and the doctor reassured me that it was completely safe to take. If it would ease your mind maybe ask to get a different antibiotic that is safer for pregnancies?

I hope you feel better soon!

I took amoxacillin when I was 4 weeks pregnant! My Dr. said he didn't like perscribing them in the first trimester, but that was the safest one. The baby has seemed totally healthy and normal so far so I don't think anything bad happened.

That sucks!!! My O date was right in the middle of my 7-day course of antibiotics for an ear infection, so I asked my PCP if that was alright. I don't know what she was planning on giving me, but she seemed to have changed her mind and prescribed Keflex (aka Cephalexin) and said it should be safe. I asked my RE too, and he said it's also okay.

Can you call your obgyn to see what he/she says? What kind of antibiotic is it?

I'm currently 4 or 5 dpo, and have all of the symptoms of a UTI. LOVELY!! Went to the doctor this morning (on-call, not my regular doc), and after the urine test, they didn't see anything. She prescribed an antibiotic, and said she'd call with the culture results in 48 hours.

I mentioned that I'm in the middle of my TWW, she didn't seem concerned at all, and even told me to take Ibuprofen (NSAID's can inhibit implantation).

Got my antibiotic, and it says do not take while pregnant. I know I'm not pregnant (yet), but it could happen this month ... I assume that it's totally safe, right?

I just wonder if you were on antibiotics the month you conceived or took them during the TWW.
