I did not have noticeable postpartum hair loss, but I also did not notice thicker hair during pregnancy (it is already thick). I definitely appreciated having my hair long enough to put it in a ponytail postpartum, though, but LO was a hair puller.

I needed to pull my hair back into a ponytail so I didn't cut mine and just dealt with the hair loss. It was annoying, but the worst part was the regrowth making weird wisps around my forehead and that would have happened regardless unless I went with a pixie cut.

I never noticed any loss PP, so it isn't universal. Just suit yourself about your cut - you can't control it anyway.

I'd say it would be more noticeable long b/c long hair gets weighed down. You'll be fine for a couple of months. It doesn't happen until about 5 months or so. Eating healthy also affects your hair so start to eat a well balanced diet now. You can also take supplements to help with the loss. I forget what it is though... Hopefully, it won't be too bad for you.

Ugh I don't know what to do either! I'm 3 mo pp and I don't know if I'm looking too much into it but I feel like the last 2 times I washed my hair, more is falling out than usual! I've ALWAYS had my hair long tho so I am too scared to cut it short lol!

Cut it! Cut it! You will notice your hair thinning out no matter what. But shorter hair helps a ton with the shedding.

i cut mine to a chin length bob and i loved it. i plan on doing it again. it isn't more noticeable either way, except to you. with longer hair, the hair loss will seem much more than if your hair is short, especially in the shower.

I kept my hair around shoulder length. I always had thick hair though so can't help you on whether if the PP loss is more noticeable in short vs long hair.

I think it will be noticeable (to you) no matter what length it is--it's not so much the loss that's noticeable, but the regrowth. I'm 19 month pp now, and I still have sticking-up fountains of hair all over my hairline--and I've had shorter and longer hair in this 19 months and none of that changes the small hairs that stick straight up from me head.

I kept mine long until 10 Months PP, but that's when the hair loss started like crazy for me. The shorter cut just helped with the tangles. I'd wait and enjoy the awesome hair until the hair loss actually starts

Should I cut my hair or leave it long? Right now it's fabulous and thicker than it's ever been at 7 weeks PP. I'm considering cutting a little below my chin. If I do lose hair, will it be more noticeable short or long?
