My nausea wasn't quite as bad as yours sounds, but it was worse with my second as well. With my first, the worst of it was only about weeks 8-11. When I felt awful starting at 6 weeks this time, I had that same intense dread like, "if it's this bad already, how on earth am I going to survive the next 6+ weeks??" As cliche as it sounds, you just have to take it one day at a time. You made it through one more day.....you made it through one more work week, etc. My husband picked up some of my slack with cooking and taking care of our daughter, and our house was a disaster for 2 months, but we made it. My all-day feeling awful lasted about weeks 6-13 this time, so for me it did start sooner AND end later, but I really hope that's not the case for you! It sucks, but you'll make it!

Ugh I'm sorry you're in the thick of it. I was much sicker with my second pregnancy and was definitely counting the days and minutes until I felt better. I took b6 and unisom and it helped me to at least keep food down and sleep without the churning. On a positive note I felt better each week until I finally was done throwing up around 17-18 weeks. I still had a few random bad days but it was definitely like a fog lifted! Hang in there, I know it sucks. (but as sick as I was - I really want a third. Pregnancy amnesia is real! Haha)

I felt so much anxiety about morning sickness too, especially since I ended up getting it every time (even with the pregnancies I eventually lost). My final pregnancy, my doctor offered Diclegis and I took it and it made a world of difference. I wish I had thought to take it sooner but I didn't think to ask (I never threw up, was just horribly nauseous all day long for months on end). So I definitely recommend it!

I had horrible sickness with my first two children and am 6 weeks 2 days with my third and was up at 4am today throwing up. I'm dreading the next few months but yet also grateful for feeling this way as I didn't throw up with my two miscarriages so as horrible as this is it is peace of mind.

I agree with @Anagram: in going to the doctor's and being honest and getting meds. I took them both times and will be asking for them again, it doesn't stop it for me but it does help me function.

I know the anxiety about it is terrible, I just keep thinking that I've done it before, I can do it again, the end result is worth it and hopefully I will never be doing it again!!!!

@turquoisemama: I felt kind of similar after my first, so as soon as I got pregnant, I went to my OB and told her I couldn't be non functional with a full time job and a toddler to care for like I was in my first pregnancy, so I told her I wanted every drug she could give me, and we tried a few things until I found a winning combination of 3 diclegis a day, 1 zofran every morning, and 2 Reglans (after lunch and dinner) each day. And by winning, I actually just mean slightly less sucky. Like I went from laying on the bathroom floor with vomit coming at any minute 24/7, to shuffling around work and home with a plastic grocery sack feeling like I was going to throw up, but rarely ever actually doing it 24/7.

Anyway, the short version is, I took more drugs, my husband took on more, and we all just slogged through it. It did last longer the second time for me---from 6 weeks until 23 weeks was the worst of it. It got better st 23 weeks but I still felt queasy and ill my entire pregnancy. Major aversions.

@turquoisemama: well, it helps with the constant nausea, but I do still have the kind of empty stomach feeling all the time.. and the side effects for me have been exhaustion and very dry mouth and eyes, which also aren't fun! I think the key thing is to eat small meals every 2-3 hours and stay super hydrated, with or without drugs.

I was fairly sick until 13 weeks (basically could only eat bagels and cereal and even with diclegis was still puking daily). After that it got much better, but at 18 weeks I still have to be super careful about what I eat, especially at dinner - anything much heavier than yogurt and berries doesn't really work. I could pretty much eat whatever before pregnancy, so it has been an adjustment. I was just looking at another thread on meal planning and was thinking - I don't think I could handle a single thing listed here, what's wrong with me - and my poor husband at mealtime... That said it is so much better, time has been flying by and I've been really enjoying being pregnant since the end of first tri. I think the beginning is the worst  Definitely ask about diclegis - it didn't take away the general icky feeling for me, but there were only a couple of times where I got really, really sick and couldn't keep anything down, so I definitely think it helped me to be functional and feel in control.

This is my first and I'm 14 weeks and still feel pretty bad. I can function but it is not at all enjoyable. I thought it would start easing up by now and I am also very worried about being someone who is sick the whole time. It's making pregnancy super stressful for me. So no words of wisdom, but I totally get your anxiety.

I felt the same, my pretty bad nausea started later but was debilitating some days. Shockingly, it went away sooner. I completely snapped out of it at 10,5 weeks. So maybe your MS will be more intense but shorter!

@turquoisemama: I'm 20 weeks. For #1 it was going on 4 weeks until about 12. For #2 it was really only sporadically for the first trimester. I had other issues but that's it for the nausea that I remember. For #3 it started at about six weeks but I'm still taking diclegis most days because I get very nauseous when I forget. I usually only take it before bed now though. The worst of it was gone around 14 or 15 weeks. But I can't believe it's happening at all at this point. I knew it was possible but didn't really expect that!

@CatchAFallingStar: I emailed my doctor about it but when I sent the email I realized it was 4:45 on Friday, so I'm waiting until tomorrow to see what she says. Did the Diclegis help with that empty stomach/starving/puke feeling? Haha ya know what I mean?

I can definitely relate. It's anxiety provoking not knowing if you're going to have a good or a bad day. I'm almost 12 weeks and definitely doing better but I throw up basically every morning and then I have to be careful about what I eat all day long. Some days I just am basically waiting until I can go to sleep. And I'm afraid at times to go out and do things in case I get sick.

Just commiserating with you, and hopefully it will be over soon and we'll have that pregnancy amnesia and be like oh it wasn't that bad.

i feel/felt the same way. During my first pregnancy, I remember thinking that I would never be able to handle another pregnancy. I'm 11 weeks now with my 2nd and its finally starting to get better. I still take unisom/b6 every single night. I still throw up almost every evening, but its not all day misery like from weeks 6-10.

I don't know if it was more a panic or just feeling blah but this pregnancy the first trimester just drug on and on and on. Every day I was just counting down. I know that's probably not very helpful. :( The one thing I will say is that morning sickness can vary pregnancy to pregnancy. My second pregnancy was the easiest for nausea. My third has been the most difficult/longest lasting but some of that is having two other kids.

This is my second pregnancy and last time I was pretty sick until 16 weeks then not fully better until 20 or so. I've been experiencing nausea and aversions since 4 weeks this time. I'm only 6.5 weeks now but every morning I wake up in a panic. I'm just dreading the next couple of months and feel totally helpless. I guess I'm just looking for those if you who can relate.
