@babycanuck: thank you for sharing.
@Truth Bombs: with my first child I didn't need them. I was very calm and chill.
@ms.line: I know you're right. There is just so much "talk" about the risks. I'm hoping my doctor puts my mind at ease when I go in Monday.
@MrsTiz: you and I had similar pp experiences and I'm starting to feel that way. I can not pull it together and I'm starting to resent this pregnancy because the GD and feeling like crap is getting in the way of my summer with LO.

I've dealt with depression most of my life so I know how I am off of medicine, and it's not good. Before I got pregnant I was taking Zoloft and Adderall. I got pregnant quicker than expected and had been putting off weening off my medicine so I stopped cold-turkey when I got a BFP (bad, bad idea!). Currently I'm on Welbutrin while pregnant.

With my first pregnancy I didn't take anything the whole 8 months, but it seems like the day I gave birth shit hit the fan. I was in a low low place with depression and anxiety so at my 6 week appt my doctor started me back up again. It took me almost a year to start to feel good again which is why I'm not going med-free with this pregnancy. It just doesn't work for me!

All that to say - you know yourself best, if you're feeling like you need help don't avoid getting it because you're pregnant. Pregnant and Welbrution is better than pregnancy and being stressed out because your mental health is in a bad spot!

I think it would definitely be in your (and your family's) best interest to go back on, especially if you were just on an SSRI. There's such stigma about taking medication for mental health issues, and I think it's total crap. No one would reasonably expect a woman with asthma to go without medication for the duration of her pregnancy - there's no reason you should needlessly suffer, either.

I don't take mine during pregnancy or nursing, but I personally have also found I don't tend to need them as much, so I don't miss them terribly. When I talked to my doctor about it she was totally fine with Zoloft in pregnancy, and one of my friends used it very successfully at a low dose during her second pregnancy.

I am currently taking cipralex - one doctor took me off then my OB put me back on because I seriously thought I was going crazy.

I'm in the same boat as you!!

Has anyone taken them? I purposefully went off my medication for anxiety in March knowing we were going to try this fall. I had a surprise positive test in May and am thrilled. However, since then my anxiety and depression are out of control.

I'm wondering if it would be in my best interest to go back on medication. I feel anxious, sad, like I could cry at all times, tired but I'm not sleeping, and resentful of the lack of support my husband is providing me (when really, he's been ok, not great, but not horrible).

Has anyone taken meds during pregnancy?
